Actually, the term used was "damaged base ramp dilemma". It's about a ramp block at the base of something (possibly the drawbridge, possibly pre-existing bridges in the game)... a base ramp, for lack of a better term... which gets damaged while driving into it (which happens as part of driving over it). The dilemma is how to avoid this without adding an OP mechanic into the game, i guess. ;)
Fixed but players can't craft them yet.

While the 4x4 is available, in a17 we always ended up splitting up and taking the motorcycles because they were easier to maneuver in woods, and the combined storage was more than the 4x4. Plus people could just head back to base individually if they wanted.
There just wasn't a compelling reason to take the 4x4 instead.. maybe it could have crafting/cooking stations installed in mods slots or a mounted turret in the future?

I LOVE the idea of a 4 man helicopter... exploring from the air makes spotting points of interest easier, and also reduces server load from 4 people travelling individually.
Back seat mod for 4 people will get it where it needs to be. Being able to take damage as well, currrently everything is nearly indestructable which will change in A19.

We might do a proper helicopter so 4 people can travel together. quickly but costly.
I doubt we'll do speed mods because of chunk generation speed. Probably fuel economy for sure, the rest we will wait to talk about.
uhh why?!

Why not focus on actually giving people a reason to want/need to travel all over the map first? Or how about supporting the 16k map at least (24k - 32k would be better)? Before considering making an aerial vehicle that can haul 4 players around the map?

When you can literally travel across an 8k map in 20 (irl) minutes, a stack of megacrushes on your tool belt, on foot! Why would you want to make your map 'Feel' even smaller?

*Travel time based off of A17.4* That's really not much time, its only a 1/3rd of the default 24hr game day.

Did you readjust the walking/running speeds or something and it takes more time now?

Why not just add a 4 passenger land vehicle first?

Just curious as to the reasoning behind even thinking about adding it, is all?

Its nearly as fast as a minibike, bypasses any encumbrance you have and doesn't use fuel, its perfect as is. You might as well turn on god mode and fly around if that is your idea of useless.
Nope, I made my bike 3 times as fast and it's more realistically. In real life, no way I would move so slow with the bike unless I got an injury, being afraid that my bike would fall apart any moment or being just an old bag of bones, so yes, the bicycle is totally useless (again, for ME).

I get what you are trying to say, your reason behind not making vehicles faster and I'm NOT ASKING you to modify anything but for me the vehicles are too slow so...I will just mod the xml file so it can feel more realistically, same with the other vehicles, and adjust the fuel consumption accordingly.

Flying in god mode feels like cheating so no thanks. I'm glad that I can mod the game the way I want, because if it were not for the xml files, I would be done playing this game a long time ago since I don't like many things and don't consider this as complaining, but what I do like is the fact that I can have many options from which to choose. Just don't take away our modding support and everything's fine.

A vehicle mod that allows for 4-players riding together in the Jeep would be something for A19 or A20 whereas a full helicopter would probably be post gold. Timing is probably the difference between them.

Also a mod for additional passengers is actually under consideration by TFP while a full helicopter is just out loud wishful thinking on Madmole’s part here in the moment.

That might sound stupid but... You are holding the shift key to go faster on the bicycle, right?

I find that it's fast enough as an entry level way to move around the map. I craft the minibike once possible of course, but the bicycle is definitely fast enough.

Yes, I am holding they shift key, I will tell you again, it's about MY PREFERENCES and again, I didn't tell Madmole to change anything about the vehicles. I already stated that in real life no way I would move so slow, so the need to modify the bicycle was big enough. If you move that slow in real life, then you can be my grandpa, really now...and yes, again, the modding support saved their game, because I can change the game to my own liking.

So if I want to travel the Navezgane with the gyrocopter in 3 seconds(I didn't make it that fast, just as an example), why would that bother you? Isn't this the reason for the modding support? We can make it the way we want it. Don't get me wrong, I am here since Alpha 1. In highschool I didn't have money to buy the game but I played however I could, cracked. Now that I can work and have my own money and married, I bought the game, and I tell you, I love this game too much, too many good memories, but that doesn't mean I agree with everything they do.

Does melee with fist weapons offer combo attacks? Such as landing jab, jab, power punch = knock down and x2 damage? Guess I fail to see why anyone would put themselves in such close fighting quarters if there wasn’t a significant payoff.

heh, that's why I addressed his "thinking about it", because it was just something he was thinking about. I would be surprised If they weren't working on a 4 player vehicle addition (in whatever form), it just makes sense to do so, with even having vehicles in the game.

IDK, maybe he has a plan is why he is thinking about it? I just found it odd, with some major things in the current game (speaking only of a17 ofc) that are working against it inclusion imo. Small map. Small biomes. No incentive to actually want to travel around the map. No need for a helicopter, other than just to say you did it.

Maybe we can use it to travel to another map? idk. was just curious. :D

Regular bandages do not heal you at all. They restore max health which is not health. Your food is used to heal you over time.
You didn't read my post very close. I was asking if it'd make sense for regular bandages to only heal your "max health" up to 75% instead of 100%

Or misinterpreted it. By max health I mean the black line.

What about a gyrocopter with a backseat? Two people is a common thing for these light planes.

EDIT:

And powerattack with torch pls

It takes 15 minutes to drive on a minibike to Trader Jens from Trader Joel's, so a minimum of HALF my day and that isn't accounting for time taken to browse her inventory and buy/sell what I want. 8k is very large. Speeds have not been changed on anything. I even turned up the gyro speed and it takes ages to fly to one end of the map, a full tank didn't even get me to the border, so I increased the tank size.

What does map size have to do with air assaults in pvp which would be awesome regardless of map size? Or just flying with your friends to PVE a dungeon would be great too IMO. A couple friends got wrecked and need rides to their packs, its a great feature.

An 8k map is way bigger than Skyrim or Fallout 4. 8K is 64 square KM, Fallout has less than 10 square KM. Stop pretending its small. Its been stated numerous times that we'll try to get 16k maps back, but we wouldn't cut a heli as a feature just because a few people have no concept of size.

I just keep imagining a heli that's half ass/junk metal as an assembly.

U think it would look bad ASS in this Apocalypse. Literally you could go as far as 2-3 vehicles per tier to make it fun but that's gold and further id assume

Like a mini bike,trike, etc!

Yes its actually a fairly realistic speed, its player running that is ridiculously fast, like NFL sprint speed fast, but its a game and realism is bad for games so it may seem like its too slow compared to running.
