Yessir, been a fan since FO2, but in reality, New Vegas is where it's at.
Maybe that's why the Desert was so fun in the new game I started...

If we can only get a legendary "Courier Special" revolver when legendary items hit...whoo boy lol.

It's Outer Worlds now. Don't mention 76, because there is no 76. There's barely a 4!
I googled fallout courier special and didn't find anything.

I think outer worlds is out today, I need to get an epic account set up, that and red dead 2 should be my go to games for a bit. Nice to have something to look forward to besides 7 days and skyrim.

 
Nah, AKs are notoriously difficult to ruin. You could drop one in a pond for a few years, rinse the mud out and it'd fire. Glock likely would too. The simpler the design, the lesser the firearm is to FTF. Bolt Action rifles can take an astonishing amount of punishment before they start acting up also.
well im no gun expert but i dont think that AK wound work!

thing would probably Blowup in your hands!

So I am loving the new update. Melee speed is awesome and all the other stuff is good. However... I found 2 traders on day one and in the broken stations I found schematics for some of the worktables already. Two chems, a forge and a cement mixer. Kind of seems to easy to get em imo.
Haven't found any from the destroyed workstations I have found yet. It's just RNG. You got lucky.

Speaking about that, I found an intact forge and workbench, which breaks the game's progression IMO. Will the chance for these be reduced?

No no, Bethesda didn't let go of Fallout. Like how Rose never let go of Jack.
The difference in the analogy, of course, is where Jack and Rose were floating on a door in a freezing ocean, Bethesda is sitting in a liferaft holding onto Fallout by the foot shouting "I'll never let you go!"
What they did was hire a bunch of crappy studios instead of paying tax on all that earned income and toss some of these random b studios a fallout game to play with. Bethesda had very little to do with it and that is why 76 stinks. Its a fallout 4 mp mod it doesn't even have all new art. Hopefully they patch it to something worth playing in the next year. I predict starfield will be amazing because they've talked about it and had pre production on it in between stuff for 10+ years.

It doesn't break anything, its still a major inconvenience to travel to them to use them. In fact one could argue it reduces your chance for survival because you are spending travel time to do something you aren't ready to do efficiently yet. Depends how far it is from your base of course. I have to wonder if I'd just clear 5 houses out back to back and put all the loot in a chest in the street, instead of doing one house for trader, drive there drive back that I'd make more coin and more xp just slaugtering zeds and looting the old fashioned way.

Oh, I'm liking that advanced engineering change and the T5 reward.

Apologies, by Courier Special, I was trying to provide an idea for a gun name that wasn't directly taking a weapon name from the game (NV) itself (adam mentioned the Ranger Sequoia--I'm partial to the Mysterious Magnum). So Courier Special to shoutout to the PC of New Vegas, and obviously make it a 44 magnum!

And you're right on the money for 76. Was it the team at Austin that developed it, so not--as mentioned--Bethesda proper? I still have hopes for ESVI, and I'm hoping that a proper Fallout comes one day. Maybe they'll turn 76 around like they did Elder Scrolls Online?

I was looking at the description for advanced engineering rank 3 and didn't quite understand the new description for the latest experimental.

It says, "Efficient craftsman. All forge recipes cost 10% less, crafting Forged Steel and electrical devices costs 15% less.".

1 - Why is the forged steel costing 15% less when it says "All" forge recipes cost 10%? Is forged steel not counted as a recipe made in the forge?

I think this is saying that, everything is 10% less, but Forged Steel and Electrical Devices are an additional 5% off; so not so much they're not considered a forge recipe, but more that you're getting an additional bonus on top of the 10%? Not a dev obviously, but hope that helps.

 
These especially sound really good. 👍 Makes those t5 quests definitely more desirable.

I know you've been working on optimisation, and I noticed something on my day 56 horde night last night... once the sky turned red, my franerate felt like it cut in half. This was the few hours before the horde night started.

Could that red shader be causing that issue? I also just got the night vision goggles... on previous versions if you were wearing a headlamp, you could cycle toggle the headlamp, headlamp and night vision, and both off. In a18, you have to remove the lamp mod or headgear because there is no way to turn off the lamp and turn on the night vision only.

If the bloodmoon shader is causing the problem, maybe use the same shader as the night vision, but darker and red instead? It looks like it uses no post effects and its framerate is very high, plus its very clear and easy to see.
It is not the red sky tint. It is the sun low on the horizon casting long shadows. Morning does it too. Everyday. Once the sun sets that light is disabled, so the FPS increases. Then BM zombies spawn and the FPS decreases. The moon comes up, light enabled, the FPS decreases. At 1440p, the FPS difference was around 45 high, to 38 low, which is normal. Of course the base FPS depends on where you are at and what you are looking at.

Tested on a RTX 2070 on high and ultra. I play on high. I would not be playing on Ultra, if you are.
