I always wondered what those "rocks" in 7DtD actually are supposed to be.

I just came.

The subsurface 'rock' in the game looks pretty much basaltic to me.

 
Its been suggested before. I hate it in rust and their weapons are generic af compared to ours. Maybe as an option, but it would require a fair bit of work because if it downgraded to the next color, we'd have to lock out a mod. How do you decide which mod to lock? I suppose bottom to the top so players put their least desirable mod in the bottom or something. We'd have to communicate why its like that, etc. Its quite a bit of work for something we don't need IMO. Again, its just a matter of balance.
Don't take it the wrong way, but RUST's weapon variety and ballistics are better than 7 Days's.

I love the new additions and look forward for more (.44 LEVER ACTION RIFLE WHEN!?)

Somehow I just duped my minibike. O.o Picked it up, put it in a chest, went back outside, there it was again, and now I have two of them sitting in a chest.

Hey, so, would it be too hard to implement a menu where you can check which recipes you have unlocked and which others you haven't? Sometimes while I loot I find so many recipes I forget I've unlocked them later on.
You can't really keep tabs on it in the crafting menu, since it never shows you all the unlockable recipes at once.


Did we have everything before ...

 
I like degradation, just not perma degradation. I'd be ok with skill based repair ability, so you use more repair kits or it loses durability to uselessness until you match it in rank, so tier 5 of boomstick to repair a purple shotgun.
As of A18, all items have random stats. I've found many T1 weapons doing more damage than T3+.

Maybe degradation should be done by rolling a dice upon repairing if damage or range decreases.

If you are unlucky then the AK or SMG or the Pickaxe will loose some damage. This will take into

account that the barrel wears out the more shots are fired. Propellant gases may bypass the bullet

and don't put energy into acceleration.

A pickaxe may get truncated and isn't able to split stone the way it did before etc.

So you can avoid tier degradation. Repairing takes gun/tool parts then to restore full capacity.

A broken leg is no big deal once you have a vehicle either.

Sure is possible to balance the probability to find an "high level item" but after you find it, the item is here to stay forever, no reason to continue to loot parts or crafting except repair kit.
If lowering the stats/quality of a weapon/item(degradation) isn't see like a good thing maybe a different solution can be upgrading weapon, after a balance of probability of find a tier.

For example with looting you find a pistol tier 6 do 20 damage(random numbers only to do an example).

You can upgrade with crafting, for example creating an item like an "upgrade kit"(obtained with schematic/high level skill point), this item raise damage of +2 every time to max to 40.

Looting continue to be important for finding the specific materials needed to crafting "upgrade kit"(maybe weapons/item class specific like the Parts introduced in A18), crafting is important to boosting stats of weapons/tool.

Surely will be not easy to balanced it, but i think can be a way to give people a reason to crafting/looting even after find an high level item like t6 or in future legendary.
I like this idea. But I would just make it so that the most skilled crafters can upgrade/enhance a weapon only once. Say with +2. Sort of like "sharpening" a spear, or redrilling a pipe or something. The higher crafting skill, the higher level item you can enhance. And highest skill could enhance purple equipment.

Please explain, I’m not following. The entire toolbar as we know it could be for that. I’m talking about a single slot that allows you to switch to fists even if you have a full tool belt. Look at it like this... your tool belt is full, but why then can you not punch? Your fists already belong to you, even if you didn’t own a tool belt or backpack.
You can only punch empty handed, what is the difference then with the knuckles in that slot?

 
Are screamers spawning without heat?
Day time day 1. I was outside scavenging a POI and a screamer spawned. I had no fire active. There was a game placed oil barrel on fire near by.

Night time day 1. Secured an area with a door and was looting on a higher floor (staying in a partial demo'd building). I hear something banging on my door. Come down and 2 screamers are bashing it. I had 1 torch in my hand.

Don't mind this all that much. Nice little horde to fight night 1 but is this the norm?

Edit: Morning day 2 0430. I leave my structure and waiting for me at the bottom is another Screamer.

Edit 2: Evening Day 2 2130. Get back to base and close door and ....another screamer. WTF.
Got the same problem, our base gets flooded with screamers

 
Hey guys, I have a idea for a book, you could make it based on the Indians , for example vol. 1 could be about a trick how to gather more feathers, with vol. 2 you could craft a bow mod for better stats, vol. 3 you could craft poison arrows against humans and animals, vol. 4 you could make a hood which would boost your resistance against heat, vol. 5 maybe something like a water skin, vol. 6 boots which would make less noise, vol. 7 add a chance for more hide and bones from animals, and the set bonus you could craft the tomahawk :)

And with all these extra feathers we are now getting, how about a schematic to make a chicken suit so we can fly ?
