Dunno, are you sure you need to lock out a mod? Maybe the mod limit only applies to the number of mods the player can add, but a tool with extra mods remains functional.
No need to make it that complicated. Just make item health/durability work like player health/stamina. Repairing a T6 will just reduce max durability, but item will always be T6 and have all it’s mods. Eventually, item durability will be too low and require replacement.

Razorwire is the nickname never could spell it's real name
Military has no nickname for it. Its simply called by its real name concertina wire.

Civilians have a few nicknames for it though, which sounds stupid if you have ever served.

EDIT: No concertina wire in the game. I believe there is barbed wires in game though I do not recall ever seeing concertina wire.

Although I agree with totally random loot instead of leveled loot I think the balances are currently way out of whack. It's far too easy to find great stuff.
Day 3 with minimal looting and I have a steel sledgehammer, steel pickaxe and a hunting knife? That seems a bit much to me. Where's the sense of progression?
Steel tools used to need steel for maintenance, so you could find them, sure, but you knew you weren't really there yet and it'd be a good while before you could treat them as if you owned them.

Now it's reasonable to perk into forge construction and build endless repair kits day 1.

Huh. I'd always thought that durability loss was representing serious mechanical damage rather than maintenance like cleaning and sharpening.
Yeah, firing ♥♥♥♥ty handmade bullet casings packed with ♥♥♥♥ty melted lead heads and ♥♥♥♥ty gunpowder made from ♥♥♥♥ty stuff you break out of rocks is likely to make your weapon pretty ♥♥♥♥ty pretty quickly.

Cleaning it would be a nightmare and something you would have to do VERY often lest it blow up in the chamber.

I've seen this in A17.1 once when I caught the owner of a server I was playing on using this bug to his advantage. He even had said in the rules. no cheating or exploiting...then i catch him doing it lol. got to love server owners who are hypocrites lol
Lol Classic.

I don't even mean to exploit them. Standing in the corners allows me to throw molotovs, grenades, etc.; down, it gives me the best angle on the zombies, and I can see two sides of my base instead of one. It's not my fault the zombies want to play House of Cards in the meanwhile. Lol Or perhaps they are measuring their hierarchies. "Jim, no, get off, no Jim, you stay on the bottom, you're cannon fodder. Francine, you go to the top, you're important, as am I, now get off, I deserve that spot. Everyone else, carry us during this blood moon horde." XD

Its been suggested before. I hate it in rust and their weapons are generic af compared to ours. Maybe as an option, but it would require a fair bit of work because if it downgraded to the next color, we'd have to lock out a mod. How do you decide which mod to lock? I suppose bottom to the top so players put their least desirable mod in the bottom or something. We'd have to communicate why its like that, etc. Its quite a bit of work for something we don't need IMO. Again, its just a matter of balance.
I don't like permanent degradation nor going back a color because it damages the sense of ownership and uniqueness of an item, rendering everything ephimeral and annoying. I want my weapon just the way I got it, period. Wanna damage it ? go right ahead, but give me a way to restore it to its original glory.

Degradation can be just a slight cumulative damage to weapon stats that blocks mods at random and their benefits without going back a color. It can have 4 stages (-for purple ones-.For the ones without mods it can just keep damaging stats). Last stage of degradation can render all 4 mod slots black and you have to repare the weapon in a workbench.

Legendary weapons could be either resistant to degradation or not degrade at all (just durability damage).

I haven't seen it yet except a screenshot. It is a candle in there, what did you expect a massive flood light? Its a decoration night a huge spot light.
These are a little bright but colors could be cool to have for pumpkins.

I think you shouldnt place the lantern on top of the pallets of items in game. Just looks stupid when the lantern floats in the air after breaking down the pallets for cement or cobblestone. Would look better placed on the floor. IMO

I hate to admit it, but nightmare run speed on everything was too much. Maybe if I'd had some luck and found a gun earlier. I set it to jog at day, default sprint at night, ferals and blood moon are nightmare yet now its ok. Day 3 I finally found an orange pistol and brown AK, so I'm not completely hosed now. Got 2 pockets crafted for clothing, but I'm fighting infection constantly. Vultures in the desert keep sneaking up on me and infecting me and so I went to the pine forest stump hunting after no luck raiding a nice house. I found one, but I was at 13%, so it will help for a bit. I'm on a nerd pole right now as I type this waiting for the sun to come up, night time is too risky to run around now early game.
Have you tried Nightmare on all but on the EASIEST difficulty.

Think that would be fun. Everyone running at you but can take them out easily if you hit your shots!

I wanted to try that soon.

Why not just make it so that top level in its respective skill is the only time in which you are able to actually improve the item

There’s no shame in that at all. I want to give it a go soon myself. I know I won’t live long, but I feel like there exists some difficulty to strive for now. You should be proud to admit it, because that’s a success.

Is it normal, that higher terrain is rendered like this ?I can see this effect coming with higher altitude, visible best in the snow biome, but also occuring in other biomes.

It happens around 140-150 altitude and gets worse in higher regions.

Happens with a custom map based on a TGA. Will test now if the random generated ones show the same too.

Or is that a bad setup of my GPU ? (AMD RX590 8GB)

I have not seem that before. Looks like a seam where the near terrain meets the distant terrain. What does it look like at the height where it appears? Like on a slope is it fine, then appears as the slope gets higher? Is it all around you, like it happens in X and Y directions?

Btw, have you thought about giving First Person animations more frames per second? The game is running beautifully at 120fps but the animations are like stocked at 30fps (more or less)
Animations run at the frame rate. Are you playing SP or MP? If MP and you are not the server, then it could be related to the network update rate, since there is animation state updates going on.

I tried Nightmare on everything...Ended up with the same result.

What they really ought to do is remove horizontal support from that block so that it falls and breaks

Playing always nightmare speed on nomad right now.

Really puts the stealth system to the test. And I've never used the rock distractions so much before.

You're seen: you're dead. It's pretty exhilarating. I started in the snow biome trying to sneak around lumberjacks and pumas. Dear lord.

I like most of A18, but I can't help but feel stealth is broken. I've found the mod for advanced mufflers and made 3 of them, I've got the stealth perk to 3, and read most of the night hunter books, including the one that makes you sneak better at night, but even so, I'm getting more Z's then in A17 wake up on me, or be already freaking awake when I get on the same floor as them. And I suspect a few were awake when I was one floor below them.
Also I seem to get a lot of wandering Z's when I'm looting a POI. I try to kill them from the door, but sometimes I need to move outside, and then *POOF* I have Z sleepers in the POI where I had cleared or was no sleeper before.

Anyway we can have a "grace" area / or time once we've entered the POI to not re-spawn sleepers? And can you all fix those 1 hex wide stairs, dear lord I make a lot of noise on those things, especially on mis-matched areas when you go from one level to the other. It's almost less noise to lay down wooden plates to bypass those.
I just started a stealth game last night, so I will see.

Sleepers respawn in 5 days. Most likely you missed them. I've cleared an area plenty of times and missed zombies around obstacles or in walls or ceilings or they walked in from another area.

You wouldn't need to remove a mod slot or even degrade the weapon from purple to blue etc. Just decreasing maximum stats by a percentage or decreasing the maximum durability would work in my opinion. Say an item has max durability of 500, then you repair it and it is now 400 or something. The usable part of the durability meter could become smaller as more of the meter becomes red. So, an item at 50% max durability would have a half green, half red durability meter displayed on the item's icon. But it's just an idea. Not sure how desired this system would be with other players. Somewhat unrelated, but I think having weapons break made Zelda breath of the wild very entertaining. Finding a new weapon, even a lower quality one, was often important and it caused you to use your powerful weapons wisely. Anyway it goes though, I'm fine. Thanks for the great game
