PC Alpha 17 Stable B240 bug reporting thread

Just to verify, latest experimental unstable in the list of beta's is what 17 B240 stable is that is being spoken about here right? Making sure that im not missing something in my list. Both for my server and for my player versions.

Bug Description:

Games in general started crashing on me. I don't think it's related in any way to this game but my forumpost asking for help got moved here.

Game crashes after 5-10min. Using ryzen 5, 16Gb ram and Gtx 1060. Any help is welcome, i came here to see if anyone sees a hint in the 7 days to die output log file cause other game crashing games i use don't give an output log file (it seems).

Reproduce steps:

Launch anything (Prefab editor, Navezgane maps,...)

After a few minutes in, game just quits to desktop and crashes.

This did not happen a few weeks before. Could be a setting i accidentaly changed in Nvidia panel for example ?

Please just tell me if the output log says anything useful. If not, i wish you a good day sirs.

Bug Description:

Zombies will only path across bulletproof glass if there is no other possible path.

Reproduce steps:

Dig a trench 1 block deep, x number of blocks long. IE 10.

Place bulletproof glass blocks in the trench.

Load a zombie.

Zombie will try to reach you, but avoid walking on the bulletproof glass blocks.

Try alternate which side of the glass blocks you stand on to herd the zombie.

Kinda funny.

Actual result: Zombies will try to avoid walking on glass blocks.

Expected result: Zombies to ignore if they are walking on glass blocks or not.

If the player stands in the target area, the zombies will follow the grey concrete

path.

Bug Description: Next to a trader, there is a massive cluster of pine trees. Not only are they grown against each other filling the whole space, but there are actually trees on top of other trees, like nesting dolls. This is causing massive lag in the area, as which normally happens with a thick cluster of trees. The first time I flew underground to get a picture, my game immediately sent me to the main menu screen. I was unable to connect to the server until I shut down my game completely.

You have a modded client, connecting to a modded server. Pretty sure that makes this report invalid. Read the OP again.

Neither 'mod' affect anything of the sort. they are purely for commands for our admins. and cbsm isn't really a 'mod' as it's not installed. Neither of those have the slightest bit to do with how things spawn into the world. I don't understand why you're being so rude about it. You all asked for reports, so I made a report. If we were getting unknown crashes, then I would understand, but this is GAME GENERATED CONTENT which CPM does NOT affect in the slightest.

 


Just re-read the OP, I don't see anything about not making a report if you are running a mod.

SylenThunder, Do you even understand what CBSM and CPM do? CBSM is a server manager that does not affect the game at all aside from managing the server and adding some commands for the players to use. It works with the RCON/Telnet side of things of the server and it is not installed. CPM you obviously do not understand the scope of what it does.

 
Latest and greatest PC and water in game still kills it. -sigh- Fluid solver PhysX please; using PPU or GPU (Don't limit it! This way our failures, I mean AMD friends, can enjoy too!). I guess gaussian time solver's and reduced coordinate articulations wont come for another 6 months, Unity only just adopted 3.4. :(

How hard would it be to adopt Unreal Engine 4? The assets are interchangeable, the only thing that is not is the code... But C# Is pretty interchangeable with unreal script!

Bug Description: bring down the console. Just hit the SHIFT key. You should not see anything, but you do. Kind of looks like a ! but it isn't.

Copy/paste: sg OptionsFieldofViewNew 75 and you get that char at the start, if you type it, you get it before each cap.

The command will not work until you remove the special thingie. Have to click beside it and backspace, then it works.

Of course, we don't need to use the capitalization for the command to work. Just an annoyance as I don't recall this happening in A16, but cannot remember if I ever tried. Has been in the last few builds though.

No screen shot, should be easily reproducable though.

Reproduce steps: F1 hit the shift key. thassit.
Update: pure vanilla, no mods, same effect. I just redownloaded the entire game, load up the main screen, haven't even started a game.

Hit F1 then hit the shift key, funky char pops up.

Status: NEW (somehow similar to the 0,0 trader bug, but usually on clients and with no workaround).

Bug Description: When activating the Itsy bitsy spider challenge on MP the quest shows 0,0 and it doesn't even fix itself when going to the actual 0,0. If shared with a friend, said friend gets the yellow marker when standing on the actual 0,0 coordinates on the map, but the one who has to activate it (the owner of the quest) doesn't see it to actually activate it.

Similar to the 0,0 trader bug but with no actual workaround. The quest remains unatended and is undoable.

Reproduce steps:

1-Get a challenge quest called : "Itsy bitsy spider challenge) from loot/creative.

2-If you are a client in mp you might not be able to actually complete the quest due to it showing 0,0 location and the exclamation mark being gone.

3-The challenge usually works fine when activated from the admin side. Not for the client though.

Yes, but you can unsubscribe from betas now, to get A17 stable. It is the same version (at the moment) as the "latest experimental". As soon as they release b241+, though, "latest experimental" will not be what you want.

There shouldn't be any need to reinstall/update if you unsubscribe from betas. You already have the latest version, b240.

Bug Description: Supply box from a failed shared buried supplies quest cannot be removed from player inventory. Basically two issues though. 1st - player was killed while doing a shared buried supplies quest that did not have stay within limits as a requirement and automatically failed the quest. 2nd - Found the the chest and now it cannot be removed from the player's inventory.

Reproduce steps:

1. Have a 2nd player share a buried supplies trader quest

2. Locate the supply chest

3. Have player with shared quest die

4. Respawn and remove the buried supplies from the chest

5. Attempt to return to trader or remove from inventory.

Actual result: Quest is failed and unable to remove supply crate from inventory

Expected result: Quest should not fail when stay within limits is not a requirement of the quest, buried supplies should be able to be removed and complete the quest.

 
Not entirely sure if this is a bug. Setting bedroll dead zone to 200 blocks prevents horde from spawning on day 7

Yes, and I ignored that line from your report because I am aware of what they are. CPM just uses the webapi btw.

I was referring to information from your log file.

Also, was completely unable to come up with the map data you are showing using the same settings with 4k, 8k, and 16k maps on a clean client. Tried making them on a dedi as well, no difference.

Bug Description: After dying from cardiac arrest and attempting to use the blood draw kit again, you'll die as if you've already over-used it. The debuff is not actually cleared despite not being visible in character profile.

Reproduce steps:

Over-use blood draw kit; die

Immediately use kit

World: Kawasi Mountains

Seed: rotda17b233

Coords: 559 47 2304

Actual result: Immediate death

Expected result: Not immediate death; restart back to mild anemia

Update: After playing a few minutes, severe anemia has popped back into status and is counting up.

The cost of buying the level 4 agility attribute shows as 2 points instead of 1 if I am wearing the ski mask.

Bug Description: I don't know if it's intended, but with B240 some small chemistry station were introduced. Unfortunately they are neither lootable nor harvestable.
I came here to report this bug but found it already reported so I'll just verify this person's findings. Extra bummer given the rarity of beakers in the game (I'm on day 33, level 78...one beaker to my name and I've gathered all air drops and completely cleaned out the 3 pop n' pills I'm aware of, checked trader maybe a dozen days...RNGesus has it in for me this run).

Edit: I had a feeling that might be the case after looking at the XML file and comparing the ammo pile to the medical pile. Much appreciated to the team for getting it into next version, maybe I'll actually be able to build a chemisty lab. :smile-new:

Were the recipes for the refrigerator top and fridge bottom deliberately removed? Have not seen them at traders either.

Are zombie loot bags bugged? I have well over 100 zeds dead and no yellow bags.
The percent of drops is .03 if I recall, and since it's totally random, yes.

I won't very any for quite a while, and then see two within minutes of each other.

I have 129 kills and no drops. RNG is an SOB.
