I had a idea that worked well in early 17 but doesn't seem to work in 17.3. Its a ramp & bridge idea that I saw from a few streamers I watch. I tried using a half block and wedge tips. any ideas from anyone?
I still use the "ramp and bridge" defense. For it to work with recent changes, you have to make the path to you up the ramp a more appealing and easy target than the Bridge supports or your Tower/Building your base is in.
I found that the "Drop them onto spikes" no longer great so I started making the bridges longer to give me time to shoot them in the face as they used the bridge. (Barbed wire on the Bridge floor really helps )
I find Jawoodle's killing corridor which is a form of ramp and bridge setup to be quite effective. The path is 2 blocks wide with barbed wire on the walls to slow them down while I pop them. I sit in my little cage and just plink away until they are all dead. Sometimes they get hung up on the spikes surrounding the base of the platform I shoot from so I just shoot down thru the bars surrounding it. The structure takes very little damage which is nice.
I just wish I knew why the half blocks or wedge tips arnt working anymore Would the half blocks still work in a checker pattern instead of rows with a gap
the blocks worked for me last night. they hopped up (giving me a chance to shoot them), only one managed to make it across the gap (surprise!)
I have to make the gap 1 block wider I think.
but it does still work. (I put the gable parts beside the bottom where the ramp starts later on, to help them get up that first step and not bash the ramp)
