PS Almost unplayable

Hi. I know recently there has been a lot of negativity around the game but I love it and have been playing legacy on PS4 and now have almost 1000hrs on PS5.
But since 2.5 released the game is nearly unplayable. The hitching while on vehicles is terrible and the game seems unbelievably lagging and screen tearing.
For context I keep my console clean, have recently rebuilt the database and have very good broadband.
Anyone else experiencing this ??

I doubt the game will be fully optimized until it goes gold. I'm sure they're constantly looking for ways to improve performance as they've introduced quite a few performance enhancements already. That's something players are just going to have be patient with, imo. If it's barely playable for you*, some of the quality settings can be adjusted in the interim.

*I have hitching (FPS loss) and screen tearing in graphically busy areas on PC as well, but they do not render the game unplayable in my experience.

If you are playing online, the problem could be with the server you are joining. Are you getting the hitching, lagging, screen tearing in solo games?

Yeah, it's cause of the 3rd person view feature, it doesn't matter if you use it or not.

The stuttering has been fixed in the latest experimental and should be released on consoles soon.

Hotfix is up for PS5.
 
So i have a problem with the lag in the game. it’s so bad the game is basically unplayable. can’t switch weapons, place done things, open doors, or look. it happens every horde night now, and in the radioactive zone. i play on a ps5 thats brand new, the game is up to date, and i’ve uninstalled and redownloaded the game to see if it would help and it didn’t. i dont really know what to do about this but its getting so bad the game progression when it comes to the radioactive zone is just impossible. this is NOT xbox but i had to pick a prefix and playsation isn’t on there
 
So that lag is only in the horde night, the rest of the week is (not perfect but) ok? What day is it in game? What is your level? How many turrets, dart throwers, blade traps, electric fences have you placed? How big is your horde base, i.e. dimension in blocks?

Possible problems:

If you placed dozens of trees in sight range of your base or added lots and lots of traps the game needs a performance a console currently can't deliver.

I heard there is currently a bug that leads to stuttering, it seems to happen when a specific armor or cosmentic armor is worn. See this thread: https://community.thefunpimps.com/threads/multiplayer-stuttering-source-identified-partially.46545/

A prefix "PS" seems to be available.

for me at the time the prefix PS was not on there. me and my friend are currently on day 119 and we are level 85 and 75, the armor we use is the raider set. the lag has been happening even since early game during horde nights and the radiation zone is basically unplayable because of how bad the lag gets there (can’t place blocks, switch weapons, or pick up loot) as for traps the only things we have placed are spike. and i wanna estimate that our horde base is roughly 15 by 18 somewhere around there. sometimes it’ll also lag just randomly and we don’t know what to do about it.

Have been playing with a friend online (I am the host of the game) for some times on Navezgan, Blood moons and high zombie density in some buildings are killing my frame rate, can't have more than 10fps whenever there is more than 8 zombies (I haven't changed the base value of zombie waves in game), can't change the graphic settings on console to improve it either, we need a fix, it's almost unplayable at this point
 
Game needs absolutely more optimisation for PS. Driving a bike at half speed is about doable in the wasteland due to small obstacles popping in way too late. Even POI's in pinewood early game have issues not showing zeds inside when you already spotted them through a window from another angle. Already in this game stage opening your nearly empty inventory can cause a hickup for about a second.
Later on hordenights can cause serious lag and stutter where your fps is way under 10 at times.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the game but I my fear is they keep pushing new systems at cost of optimisation. Version 1.0 should have be stable and in my opinion optimisation should have been prioritised over new content.
 
Alright, so let me preface this by saying I’ve been playing this game since it came out on PS5 back in 2024. I have over 590 hours of game play and til now it’s been my go to game. I don’t know if it’s the newest update or something else but in the matter of the last week I have “lost” a 4x4 truck that was loaded down with supplies (coins, blocks, steel, etc) and now today I have lost my motorcycle too. Not to mention the fact that I have had 3 horde bases fall apart (all were made with steel blocks) and also had a huge portion of my actual base fall apart, part of which was a huge swimming pool that I had filled with buckets of water from local ponds/trenches. What happens is the game starts lagging then it crashes and when I log back in the vehicles were gone. It’s been over a week in game (and real life) and I’ve gone back to the POI I visited prior, as well as back to the last location where I had the truck and still nothing is there. I know this is a game but it’s stupid frustrating to spend so much time on building/collecting supplies just to lose it bc the game crashes. Beyond frustrated with the game and thinking that until another update it may be best to stop playing. Any help would be appreciated
 
Yep same thing happening to me, my games has crashed so many times and in the process I’ve lost a truck loaded with supplies and a motorcycle. And had numerous bases fall apart randomly. (Bases made with steel blocks not building blocks/cobblestone.
