PC AI pathing and base defending

I agree that Zs should not be able to find perfect paths to the nearest player.

Possible solution.

Limit the block range that zombies are able to calculate a path. I would think if the Zs are limited to a block range equal to the distance they can see might be a way to fix the too smart zombie issue. I am not sure what the sight range of the Zs are though.

I also do not think they should be able to calculate a path through solid blocks. Pathing through 20 blocks of solid matter seems to much like magic to me.

they have to smell u through 20 blocks because if they dont players will just build walls with 40 blocks to be safe

this :p theres a point where game play out weighs your immersion and "realism". Theres probably a dozen different versions of zombies out there, just consider 7days zombies to be another type.

Many people have terrible prejudices against zombies. One of them was telling me yesterday: "I'm tired of hearing 'zombies do that, zombies are like that, no zombie would do that.' Damn, I used to be a human being like any other ! I wanna be able to dig in the ground, sniff people through walls and jump with arms up. It's my thing. Give me a break."

Zombies should not avoid traps or find weak points imo. As others have stated zombies should mindlessly flail around and attack things and the ai pathing seems exploitable.

Found that they would rather go all the way around a 1 block wide wall to a point they can get on it and run towards you than attack it. You can set up spikes along the top of the wall and they will just walk through them all killing themselves in the process to get to you.

My solution is having a mix of both stupid zombies and smart zombies.
