PC Advice required: how to play experimental but retain B240 stable.

I am currently at level 70ish on B240 stable on a multiplayer server. I would really like to try out the new experimental release, without loosing the ability to play my B240 stable game. Problem is if I opt in to the new experimental, it will overwrite my B240 stable game. Not sure how to do this, or even if it is possible. (Yes, I want to have my cake and eat it too.) Help would be greatly appreciated.

 
Try renaming your 7dtd game folder within the Steam folder on you computer. then it will just make a new game folder instead of overwriting the old one.

 
I was on B240 stable and switched to experimental (A17.1 B8) with no problems. Existing save is fine. Been playing it for 2 days now. Swirching into experimental from stable doesn't overwrite saves. You will however lose any changes you made to the config xml files.
