Hi survivors,
I wasn't sure where to post ideas for game improvements, but this seemed like as good a place as any. I've been a 7D2D fan for many many years. Two suggestions:
1) The new 3D character models
I love the detail on the new character models. Super realistic. But if feel like a could things be improved. For starters, in a multiplayer game, my partner looks like he is always staring at the ground and bending at the waist like he is bowing to me. I think the Fun Pimps went overboard with the bending animations for the characters. Since in the game we often spend a lot of time looking down, I would suggest starting with eye movements down, then a slight tilt of the head, and reserve the bending at the waist for only when a character is literally staring straight down or picking something up. It would improve the realism greatly.
Additionally, when climbing ladders, the characters legs are in running mode. Looks pretty silly. Can there be a test for a ladder, and maybe introduce a climbing animation only when actually moving up or down.
2) Spastic Trees
In a recent gaming day with my buddy, his wife was looking over his shoulder and asked why the trees were blowing like they were in a hurricane, when the sun was out and it was a beautiful day in the forest biome. I agree! I'd like to see tree and plant animations significantly reduced (or slowed) during normal weather. But when that storm rages and the lightning crashes, let those trees go back to their spastic jiggling and swaying.
Thanks FP for the best game ever!
