PC A18 mandatory?

I was wondering if I could just continue to play A17.4 and pass on the new update? I know there is a way to play earlier versions but I totally forgot how because I never tried to do it.

I found it in the Steam menu, sorry for not checking first.

Go into the game properties in Steam, click on the Betas tab, and choose 17.4 from the dropdown. Then you're locked in to that version even when a18 goes stabe in a few weeks.
