PC A18 Bad feels situations.

This is a thread of random things that happened to me and maybe to you that envokes bad feels of various kinds such as rage and sadness and such.

1: When you find a super corn seed schematic and then the world your in doesn't have the poi which is the only one that has supercorn in it, and is the only way to get it.

2: When you dig for a buried tresure/supplies quest, can't find the thing then you look up and there it was right at ground level staring you in the face taunting you.

3: Simmlar to the above but when your quest is in a lake. Lake might be too deep to swim to it, or its under the lake, in my case I dug all around underneath and here it was sitting there in the open in about 2 blocks deep water. Me: "Where the hell is this thing.,. I totally bet if I get out of this hole and look it'll be right there on the surface...." and thats right where it was? XD

4: When you craft something at tier 3 that has worse stats than a tier 1 you looted on day 1, this happened to me in my current game, my t3 iron sledge I crafted had lower entity damage than a tier 1 iron sledge I looted on day 1. Rng can be a bish XD.

5: When you get grease monkey 1 to make a bike, (and wheels for other vehicles) and then end up finding a vehicle part schamtic that gave the wheel recipe too. Well at least its not a total loss, I now have a bicycle which is faster than running on foot.

 
These things make me sad:

1. Every time I continue to use a map from a previous build, I expect everything is going to go unplayable. Ultimately I end up finding something, and its always a tiny thing that makes this happen. The latest one is when zombies spawn in when I dig up chests and I get a massive splat of red server errors. The zombies kill me quickly because I can't move thanks to the console window. Restarting and reloading doesn't get rid of this error. I am forced to wipe the world completely and start over.

2. Ninja zombie first world problems being replaced with zombies that can throw their voices due to odd quirks of the environment sound effects code.

3. That initial rain of warning groans one gets when one enters a building full of sleepers, and suddenly you feel discouraged to actually loot the place despite the fact you've killed literally thousands in this game.

4. Digging up buried chests that are literally on the edge of a water body, and require fancy angle digging in order to actually find them. The water fights you at every corner. This actually makes me mad.

5. The old run-em-over-with-your-vehicle-and-then-pelt-them-with-shotgun-lead trick now comes with a significant danger risk to your vehicle.

6. Medical items in the chemistry tree instead of the medical tree. Finding out too late when you waste the perk.

7. Loot spawning right in front of you as you approach, and wondering how this will do nothing but cause errors, or future errors in judgement.

8. Damaging a feral zed and suddenly it does that massive spinning lunge that the ferals do in Fallout 4, with four times the efficiency of normal rage mechanic.

9. Looted items that are exponentially better than crafted ones you spent massive mats on, only to scrap it to learn you barely get 1/10th of its worth it back. This is especially better when you make something that you absolutely needed but never looted, and then after you step out the door you find something lower tiered that's better.

10. Scrappable items that you wish weren't scrappable, and vice versa.

11. Getting a frame stutter right as you power swing at the head of a head with a zombie, just as it jinks in perfect harmony with it. One questions the validity of the 'glancing blows' mechanic. This problem is really bad if you play with a sledgie.

12. Arrows that hit invisible surfaces that shouldn't exist.

13. Gyrocopters you can eject yourself out of with a simple mislick, meanwhile the gyrocopter itself remains stuck in the sky.

14. Stepping onto or harvesting something tiny from a platform and the entire thing crashes killing you instantly.

15. The entire fishery complex at the west bank of the river in Navezgane is chock full of glitches and strange building features but you get a sweep and clear mission from the trader at that very location.

16. Random Bear hordes that sprint and make no noise at later game stages that somehow always seem to spawn outside of your perhiphery.

17. Zeds that fall out and attack from the most oddest locations, like from tiny crawlspaces in ceilings and the like. How the F did they get up there in the first place?

18. Boars the require your entire supply of arrows to kill, meanwhile drop later to two pistol rounds with no perks in them, and then you compare the damage of each weapon.

19. Wolves that run away after you've hit them once, knowing you need the meat but you're overburdened by 12 slots. Siiiiiiigh.

20. Bone shivs and stone spears exist, but sharpened bits of metal do not.

21. Barb wire fences can be made easily, yet barb wire mods must be looted or crafted from a schematic.

22. Athletic department stores and computer stores do not exist in the zombie apocalypse.

23. That moment when you realize that most of the zeds in just about every zombie survival game all shopped at Old Navy before they died.

24. That moment you realize you're using lock picks on safes that have combination dials on their doors.

25. That moment you realize that a mining pick should be a FAR better weapon than it's coded to be.

26. That moment you realize that chainsaws should outclass every single melee weapon in the game.

I get the game can be frustrating at times (bugs, balancing issues, etc.) But if it is invoking rage/sadness it's time to put it down and come back later perhaps or perhaps this is your method to cope. The game should be bringing you joy and excitement which I wish you much in the future.

For me, the only bad feels right now is I wish I had more time to play lol...

 
Every time I look across the landscape and see zero zombies in my zombie apocalypse, I reminisce about how great this game used to be..

 
Started a new game on standard settings, didnt edit a single setting, spawned in desert biome. Day 2. Pack of 4 zombie dogs attack me. All I had was an AK with 14 bullets that could have fought them. Wtf.... Screenshot_38.jpg

Edit: This was after coming back to 7 Days since A16, I skipped 17. I heard it sucked so bad. So yeah, didn't get past 9pm on day 2 before I said ♥♥♥♥ this game, yet again.

1) trying to shoot a zombie and clipping midair near a block whose collision extends beyond it's graphic.

2) buried treasure quests failing because they tried to spawn under a building and couldn't find a suitable chest spot.

3) finding steel armor worse than iron, or military armor worse than leather.

 
I get the game can be frustrating at times (bugs, balancing issues, etc.) But if it is invoking rage/sadness it's time to put it down and come back later perhaps or perhaps this is your method to cope. The game should be bringing you joy and excitement which I wish you much in the future.
For me, the only bad feels right now is I wish I had more time to play lol...

This was meant to be a more funny thread/things that bug you type thread than anything serious. I enjoy every minute if 7dtd for the most part, but still some things based on rng can really bug me as it feels really rigged at times.

Something did happen in my current game that brought a smile to my face, Looted a broken workbench on day 1 or 2 hoping for a workbench schematic, but sadness, no schematic, but know what it had instead? a tier 3 auger, so that brought a smile to my face.

 
looting a house and breaking decoration with an empty slot for hand looking for hidden loot, forgot mirror drop glass. Ate glass whiles screaming NO NO NONO. I did this 3 times already. You would think I've learn my lesson.

 
1. Investing into that motorcycle the trader was selling and riding it to a building shortly afterwards that had a chest with motorcycle parts you needed to make it yourself.

2. Shooting at a pig and apparently knocking it down so you think it is dead, but it gets back up and bashes you quickly that you bleed out and die cause you forgot to put bandages on hotkey bar.

3. Laying down Junk turret to cover your back but you forget to put ammo in it and get ambushed and die.

4. Making your stone ax so strong that it 1-shots bookshelves. You open shelf up to see schematics u always wanted but no space so you try to store items in something else temporary only to accidentally destroy that bookshelf...

5. Consuming some bacon and eggs by accident when you did not need it at the time and then it gives you food poisoning cause RNG.

6. Throwing down spike traps only to see zombies avoid them, but then later you get in bad position and forget they are there and get rekted by your own traps.

7. Trying to ride through wasteland forgetting about the random land mines.

Think I listed enough for now.

In my own defense, these things are more disappointing then they made me sad. Also, I can list a lot of things because I also have a keen eye for details. I still very much enjoy this game, and it's only gotten more and more fun for me over time. For all the things I can list that kinda make me headscratch, I can also make a list twice as long for all things that I absolutely love.

For instance, a situation was brought up recently where I was out cutting wood and the only weapon I had that was usable what the chainsaw. It might not be the most effective melee weapon out there, but in a pinch? I realized I had left my ammo behind in my vehicle. In was in this moment that all my MP friends and my loving GF decided I had gone full on cackling murderhobo and it was time to call the men in white coats to drag me out of the office.

I live for the little things.

You've my deepest sympathies. I've had this happen enough times that I just make the decision to never keep glass in my inventory any more. The moment I get it, I throw it away.

Can't say i've ever suicided by glass by accdient, then again my hotbar is usually always full so there is no space for it to accdiently appear on there. Also your thing about murderhobo was funny.

1. Resell those parts for cashback.

2. It squeals heavily when dieing. Listen to soundcues.

3. LoL thats not the games fault :D

4. Ye happened to me too sometimes there are unreasonable random interactions. I also punched my forge, chests, doors, generators...... Anything you interact with basically.

5. Canned food King, while also abundant

6. Spikes are treated as solid blocks, place them on groundlevel.

7. I've always been faster than the explosion, to hit me. You do sprint "turbo" while driving right?

 
So, on day 4 during the night three direwolves (yes, direwolves) started beating on my front door in the house I was in. Not having a gun, and sorta unprepared, I said "I got something for you guys" and got a molotov out the box. Waited till they breached, hit them and somehow the flames caught me on fire, too (damn things need polishing bad lol). Guess who left all their drinks in the chest downstairs?

This crispy and dead guy.

I could see myself doing this laughing all the way into my coffin. Epic.

 
Laying out the defences around our base. Using the central pillar as a referance to center the midpoints for the electric fences. Then realising after we've upgraded things to concrete that the central pillar is off center by one block in one axis.
