PC A17 "Survival" stories....

Day 7 arrives, just two of us. We are holed up in the Boobie Trap, and we have fortified the exterior with three layers of spikes. Built a roof access, added an overhang to allow us to shoot down. We're armed wiht a crossbow and a bow, having found no guns yet. Also had found no clothes other than a t-shirt and a puffer coat.

Night falls and wave one rushes the front door. We watch as a single fattie take out a column of spikes, and more fatties go to work on the front of the building. We're shooting down from our platfroms when a cop wrecks mine. I fall to the gorund, and see that not only is the door gone, 2/3rds of the front of the building is now open.

I dash inside past the horde of zombies and up the ladder back to the roof. They climb up the ladder and swarm us.

Needless to say, death was quick.

I'm not certain what happened, but multiple heavy hitters, cops, and zeds that can bash down brick walls (quickly) on horde night one does not bode well for teh rest of the game.

So I'm digging the challenge of this build, although I still haven't quite adapted yet. Anyone up for story time? I'll start...
Well, I fared better than you. I walked into house, fell through floor, broke my leg, then a lumberjack came in and fell through the floor... ate me. Dead is dead, so game over.

Wow. I haven't quite worked up the nerve to even say the words "dead is dead" out loud since this version dropped. God speed, and all that.

Dead is dead is proving quite the challenge! What with leaping zombies, pigs jumping fences and actively avoiding arrows, superstrong mobs that can pile up ten deep and manage to hit the same spot all at once. Not to mention the deathtrap poi filled with radiated and feral from the off, camouflaged flocks of vultures etc etc etc. Slightly bemused at a pig avoiding my arrows, leaping a fence, climbing up a big rock and killing me with me shouting "you cant do that" every few seconds! Entertaining, frustrating and funny as hell!

Lesson learned: always have some basics on you. Went for a "milk-run" easy fetch quest that was close to the trader. Started out at 14:00 and had to fight my way through the poi to the point that i was stuck on the top of a barn for the night. Proud to say i fought off a feral spider zombie with nothing more than a lvl 2 bow. With about 40 arrows sticking out of him he looked like a feral porcupine zombie. Was so proud of myself, but it had reached 21:30 on the clock so i found a nice shadow and hunkered down with my supply stash prize. And realized i forgot to bring food for the night. -Next, check please!

Just deleting my story (i think i can't delete the post) due to contemplating all the different playstyles/moods/game experience levels. i also want to have options for how i want to play and want it to be fun for new people so don't want to contribute to the devs not making changes that i agree need to be made in order for everyone to have fun
