Now I think A17 is a pretty amazing step for for 7D2D. I love the way the game is handled, I enjoy how the zombies are now, they pose more threat yet also more value despite their amazing lack of loot, which I'm personally fine with. I love the textures and the new building designs, the new skill system is pretty amazing, the clothing and armor system, the mod system, it's all pretty great. Some thoughts though, and I'll try to organize these(and try not to mind any typos or such, i do my best but i can only do so much vs dyslexia lol)...

Vehicles...

Overall, they are a great addition. Their different functions, their storage sizes, honestly, almost everything about them is pretty well done. I have 2 .. I guess we can say negative thoughts on them?

1. While their ability to damage blocks is, a neat idea, it does prove overly difficulty to deal with when trying to make a nice parking space for them. I often find myself finding it just easier to just leave them out in the open, which I'm not comfortable with, zombies could attack them or some troll player could come by and ninja it from me.

I would think it be cool if there was a way to code in that the vehicle cannot damage blocks that you place? Or perhaps it can't damage blocks within your landclaim? I'd imagine blocks you place would be better cause sometimes you cant always fit all your stuff within 1 land claim radius.

2. The sound matched with their speed. Now don't get me wrong, they sound amazing. However, their sound, really doesn't match their speed. The sounds sound like that of a vehicle flooring it and going super fast while the vehicles themselves really dont feel that fast at all. This is only true for the Motorcycle and the 4x4 btw.

Perhaps they could be increased in speed a fair amount? That or make the sound match the speed but I think, not sure, replacing sound files requires more work than changing the speed. Either way, just some thoughts, you guys do what you deem necessary in the end.

Skill requirements...

I'm loving this new skill system and how it works. However I feel the, level requirement, is a bit too much. It gates a lot of content behind many many hours of playing and grinding exp. It feels like the game should be much more free form. Like, removing the level requirements entirely and letting us level up our skills as we see fit. It would open up much more variety of players i believe, especially around mid-level ranges. That way players can go straight for what they want without feeling gated and restricted beyond reason, and if their choices make them suffer in this or that field of gameplay, it gives a much needed feel of diversity and perspective.

Dungeon? Difficulty...

I'm not sure what to call them, I'm not even sure all of them are technically dungeons. What I'm getting at is, how difficult most building exploring is. For example. On Day 1, yes Day 1, running into a Wight and 3 ferals. It's day 1, how are we expected to survive that? lol. Exciting a bit, but, it gets, rather unfair after the initial rush of adrenal excitement.

There is also the matter of, In my playing at least, it feels like nearly all of the houses have loads upon loads of trap floors. It's gotten to a point where i have to smack every single floor tile of every single house I go into. The floor traps feels like they were abused, some is fine, I don't mind them, but when they get overuse to the point it makes people have to waste time checking every floor tile, it just gets rediculous, makes exploring houses feel much less fun and more tedious than enjoyable.

Now, there is also the matter of amount of zombies. I wouldn't have brought this up personally but I've seen others mention it so I guess it deserves a mention at the least. Sometimes, not often enough to be a bother I feel, but there is moments where exploring a place has an unreasonable amount of zombies. For instance I ran into a house once, fell through a trap floor, i was about Lv20-26 at this time. I hit the ground was surrounded by 3 zombies, 1 of which feral, used shotgun. Next thing I know there is just, zombies upon zombies upon zombies pooring into the room, ferals, footballers, tourists. I was cornered and despite being well equipped and killing at least 6 zombies, there was just too many pooring in to ever hope of dealing with and surviving, especially in a trap floor situation like that.

Blocks...

When I saw, that you guys added hundreds of new block types. I was psyched. As a primary builder, I. Was. Psyched. But then I saw you added almost no blocks that were actually needed lol

You even removed some that I loved, like functional Jail doors, the one door you could shoot through, not the strongest door, but one with an advantage over being just a tough shield.

Blocks we really needed, especially the more ... um .. decor alligned of us? Corner and diagonal bars and fence types lol

You're building a base, it looks nice and natural, but then you get that ramp rounded section you want a fence on, but there is no diagonal fences, now it needs to look ugly lol

Or you wanna iron bar up a balcony or whatever, that has corners ... now you gotta find some way to put your iron bars, or fence even, on the outside, floating on almost nothing, when there should have been a corner piece block for block types like that.

Goes for fences, bars, and the plate block types, there needs to be corner and diagonal of those lol

Also, Steel Bars. Please, it would be amazing. If we could upgrade our iron bars into steel bars with steel. Or even if we have to follow suit with normal blocks and upgrade iron to concrete, then to steel. Either way. Why is Steel Bars not a thing? lol

Death Penalty...

I don't mind a death penalty, but the one currently in game feels pretty harsh, overly harsh even. Nerfs your stats to 1 for an hour? Not a lot of people have a lot of time to play the game, and you WILL die in this game, especially this version, it's all but inevitable really. So to punish a player with that penalty? Making them lose all the perks they worked their butt off for for an entire hour, essentially making many aspects of the game nearly undoable again, like mining, until that hour is up? An hour, when most people probably only have an hour to play?

I feel like there could be a much more worthy death penalty. Even though I personally feel like being forced to drop our stuff in one way or another is punishment enough, especially now that the zombies that killed you don't seem to despawn when you die anymore, you really gotta work for your stuff back now lol.

Archery...

Why is archery so unloved? All the other perks for all the other weapons get the same fire rate and reload as archery does, but they also get some other bonus as well, like cripple, critical shots, etc. While archery only gets the basic. Archery was unloved before with no perks for it and it's still unloved now.

Please give archery some love. If you have no ideas of how? Then might I suggest what you already have in the game. Arrow recovery? Higher archery perks can make it so your chance for the arrow to stick instead of break is higher and higher per perk. If not then maybe a bleed or knockdown chance? Or different effects depending on where you shoot, similar to shotguns cripple on leg shots.

Solar panels...

Please make Solar panels craftable, please. A wonderful alternative to energy, they dont provide as much as the other options, but they work with daylight, they should be craftable, even if it's a high level perk requirement. Please make them craftable lol.

UI...

I know almost everyone uses a mod to improve this, but this is something the game should have naturally i feel. I feel the UI should just naturally include stuff that most common mods make it include. Like your personal temperature, your water and hunger levels, your character level, some really nice convenient things to know on the go that, as a survivor we should be able to know naturally without having to go digging for knowledge, especially hunger and thirst, a survivor just knows, all the time, how hungry or thirsty they are lol

Other than that, the game is great. I can't personally think of anything else I could see improvements to or such that would make the game feel better and more fair. The game feels great in all other aspects, I enjoy playing it, can't wait for a17 to go stable and see more mods come out for all the items cause right now the mods are lacking in quantity, but It's new, I'm sure you guys are working on more, no big deal, just don't leave us with the amount we have now lol.

Over all, A17 is amazing, it's very worthy change to the game that I look forward to enjoying fully. You guys at funpimps are amazing and I hope you can keep up the great work. ^,^

Arrows used to have a chance to inflict bleed in a16, depending on the quality of arrow. I'd really like to see this return, even if it's exclusive to steel arrows or wrapped into the Archery perk.

Beakers are rare AF. I found one somewhere, but you need two of the things to make a chem station. You can't 'steal' chem stations anymore, and it seems there's almost never a Pop'n'Pills crate to be found anywhere. You also can't wrench down a chem station for a beaker :( this makes me sad. I need gas and gunpowder!

Mods are too rare. This is supposed to be a major addition to the game, but you hardly ever find these! Much less get around to using any of the schematics due to the high int requirements. If you're going to gate mods behind int, at least get rid of the schematic requirement/ingredient and let us craft essentials like dyes, fittings, plates, and pockets.

Clothes can be REALLY rare. It was three weeks and I was still in plant fiber before discovering the Mecca that is the laundromat.

Penalties on light armor are just as bad as heavy armor in practice. These need to be eased off. Cloth armor. Why? Seriously. Why? 30% reduced stamina regen at a jog? On light armor? I hope you don't mean that we're supposed to dump a pile of ultrarare mods we can't even craft into this to offset it? At least with heavy armor I expect to be burdened.

I thought the penalties on armor were a bit much, especially for light armor. But in practice, trying out light armor, I hardly notice a difference, and there is mods to reduce the effects. I was also impressed with the difference in damage taken from no armor to light armor, armor actually feels like it makes a difference now, which is nice. Granted it comes with a slight trade off, but I can live with that since, in practice, they werent as bad as my mind was making them and their numbers out to be.

Schematics I haven't gotten too much practice with, but hearing that they are now a resource instead of an actual schematic, sounds .. unimmersive. Because, it's a schematic, something you read and learn how to make the item forever. Feels like it shouldn't be a schematic, but a component. Such as, instead of Military Plating Schematic, it should be called "Military Plating Component" that makes sense then, something you need to make the item that is a resource to be consumed, unlike schematic lol

The clothes thing I don't mind too much. I like less clothes cause I use to collect clothes, all the time, all the clothes, all of them. That got tedious after so many resets lol

But with less clothes, feels like I dont need to horde clothes anymore, especially they make the dye mod work on clothes, that way you can have all the colors of "tank top"(or whatever random clothing piece) by just obtaining 1 regular tank top lol

Solar panels...

Please make Solar panels craftable, please. A wonderful alternative to energy, they dont provide as much as the other options, but they work with daylight, they should be craftable, even if it's a high level perk requirement. Please make them craftable lol.

On this one, specifically, I fully support us never being able to make them. Solar cells are absurdly hard to manufacture without proper fabrication machinery. I would hazard to say it might be impossible. So I'm OK with having to buy them, though I would also say this would be a nice addition to POI loot tables at high GS values. But making them? Nah, that wouldn't be a good idea.

Please bring gun parts back. Now you are armd to the teeth after 20min playing. You guy’s are killing all the fun. You cant even sell the wet concrete blocks anymore. And not to talk about the Gay ♥♥♥♥ porn sounds the gut makes when mining. A17 is ♥♥♥♥ snacks. Maybe change your name to troll pimps.
