ok, after searching and can't seem to find, question: what perk is raft hiding under.. have fishing 100 deepwater 3 and still nothing.

I was able to make my Raft from fishing. I auto learned it while skilling fishing.

 
Hello, I have the following problem. My survivor die from the dumplings after a few days even though I have boiled eggs, corn bread and vegetable stew in a fridge. I built a fridge and built the stations around it in short distance, what am I doing wrong?
You have to keep them busy. If they have nothing to do and are just sitting idle, they will despawn.

 
Mod Launcher is not created by the mod developers.
I have the same Mod Launcher that I have had from the start. The RSS feed for the updates was working. Then it just stopped, like the location that the MOD Launcher was pointing to had changed.

I am not sure on who's end the issue lies. But, if you would like to point to a contact for the Mod Launcher I would certainly ask them as well.

 
Some Discrepancies in the mod discovered

While playing I have discovered the following:

1. When making the camo CLOTHING:

a) The plant fiber hat when worn it looks shabby as if the characters hair sticks up through large holes and the hat does not look completely drawn. The 600 fiber hat has more stats than the fiber hat which turns into leather once camo is applied and also loses stats considerably.

b) The leather duster, though fully drawn, looks to be only a snow biome camo as in white and black and completely removes the stats of the coat except the concussion and puncture. Gone are the radiation, electricity, fire etc. Also, the insulation goes from 30% down to 10% as the waterproof goes down from 55% all the way down to 15%. Making the camo leather duster now useless to even wear due to greatly reduced stats. Yes there is a raincoat option to wear but we lose the ability to use the camo geared duster asking myself ok now why did I want to do that and use up the camo potions lol. So if someone can look into why all the other stats disappear and lower to such extremes.

c) The camo pants: This is the only piece of clothing worthy of upgrading with the camo. It actually makes a denim pant which is a +2 to insulation into a +7 which is nice and it is camo but again only snow biome camo black and white. This particular clothing does not lose any stats on it but adds insulation and waterproofing. Very nice and worth the upgrade for a survivor which also doesn't make the player feel as they have lost the camo potion upon upgrade. The denim camo is good don't change that one.

d) When wearing the camo clothing out in the snow biome the animals and zeds still react the same there doesn't seem to be a difference when sneaking or sniping them if you are within the same distance wearing other clothing, the same reaction happens they detect you at the same distance. Of course if you run through the forest biome or any other biome other than the snow one sticks out like a sore thumb but the important issue is if it is for the snow biome only, then the reactions have not assisted in staying camouflaged at any distance.

2. Machete creation and repair has been stuck to cannot complete the creation of the full machete.

a) When the introduction of the levels of novice to master quest came in, the matrix still had you purchase the machete perk with the requirements of must be level 7 Weapons smith and would give you the recipe for MACHETTE BLADE and that is pretty much it. Upon purchasing it, One cannot repair it with forged steel in pocket. You can create the blade in the big forge using scrap steel but you get the purple blade then walk over to the work bench which says : " you can make this in a work bench or an npc can create it for you." However, the ability to craft the machete itself has been stunted to where you cannot make it even if you delete the blades quest. Cannot get the blades quest back if you do by the way. So unless we then go out and find an NPC we can't make the blade complete though it says in the work bench we can as either or.

3. Stats on the left side of the character doll profile once all items are worn does not add up.

A) When putting on items each item has its own percentage toward 100% As you put on the clothing, armor , face mask, etc. The math on the left of the profile doll character does not add up. Yes if you put on more than one percentage it will overclock back around to 0 or whatever it went past in numbers. ie....87,88,02,05.... and you have just cycled past what you should have on. So, in short the math does not work to indicate the amount of protection we have on of any or for any given stat.

1. Cammo armor never had any effect on stealth, its an interesting idea having different cammos though, and may worth persuing. As for the color i originally made it based on a guppy mod which used the cammo helmet texture, no idea what changed and why was it done, will take a look. Either of these will hit top priority though.

3. Starvation did not touch in anyway in cloth stats or stats UI. If that is happening with vanilla cloths too, then it should happen in Vanilla too. Not something i really wanna mess with, for now, unless it's something xml related.

Issues with the Moonshine Still Station

1. I queued up around 126 barrels of gas, and set them to converting to gas cans. I went about my business around the base. When I finally remembered to check the still I discovered that once the output slots filled up it continued to process the gas barrels and just sent the gas cans into the void somewhere, as the output slots were all full. Thus, I lost close to 100 barrels of gas.

2. I placed a stack of 6000 oil shale into the Moonshine Still workstation and started it converting to gas cans. I was watching it closely (due to the above reason), and was making sure that the output did not fill up. It then became a Hoard Night so I shut off the valve between the Gas Tank and the Moonshine Still, so it would stop converting the oil shale until I could get back to watch it after Hoard Night was over. When I returned to the workstation and turned the valve back on, I looked into the workstation, and there were the gas cans that I had left in the output (about 639 in the first slot), but the 3000+ oil shale that was in the queue was gone. It apparently continued to process it and toss the output into the void, rather than into the output slots that were available.

Conclusions:

  1. You can not place more mats in the queue than you have output slots to fill up, or the excess mats in queue will continue to process and just be lost into the void.
  2. Turning off the Moonshine still does NOT stop the workstation from processing anything that is left in the crafting queue, and will send anything proccessed after the workstation is turned off into the void and be lost forever.

I'm not sure if that has anything to do with crafting lag fixes or powered workstations, but I'll try to take a look when possible. If anyone has any details about if this only happens on powered workstations or all stations including vanilla, please let me know.

I noticed this problem in the chem bench and medical stations as well. crafting should halt when output is full, but it keeps going and the product vanishes.... also the canned food maker has no output window, if you walk away while it works, its all gone.

 
Idk guys I just make gas in the Chem station 6000 gas is 150 crafts, or 46 wood to craft it, only ever use my moonshine for grain alcohol.

If it's affecting chemistry station, we'll need to check on a vanilla version of the game to make sure if it's a result of crafting lag fix or if it is something that also happens on vanilla game... We'll be trying to do this debugging, but if anyone can provide further input on the following:

  • does chemistry station really not stop when output full
  • does chemistry station bug in sp too, or only mp
  • can anyone confirm that this does NOT happen in vanilla


We are trying to check this ourselves (thank you Pam for all the support), but again thanks everyone for all the information.

PS - canned machine food is intended to be a hands on workstation. Canned food is a way to avoid spoilage, and we don't want it to be fully automated... However, it should indeed stop when no player present... No promises on fixes though, until we can pinpoint the origin.

Of course, I have absolutely no problem with people using our mod for their personal social content. If anything I appreciate it :)

My own channel is more directed for people that want to observe the mod progress, including some of my failed attempts to modify something :)

 
Awesomesauce! I hope I can make a good guide to help people out especially with some common questions I see coming up on the thread as well as some general advice for starting out, which can be deadly if you spawn in a plains with 3 angry hyenas around you followed by a rhino :p

unless they changed something recently the only station you can turn barrels into cans right now is in the moonshine.

Hi all, i see so many video of Starvation and this mods seems awesome....but i'm a mac player i know.. don't blame me :/

I want to know if it's possible to play Starvation on mac and if it's yes how ?

Because i can't use the launcher ...

Unfortunately, I can't personally tell you if it's possible to use the same dlls since I have no way of trying it. For what I know, Unity on Windows uses Mono, same as other platforms, so almost everything is automatically cross-platform.

Maybe someone can give us some info.
