Wherever Steam installs games.....however the thought occurs to me that maybe I should go and erase all traces of newer versions and try again before I whine too much here....<deletes newer versions....> .. < re-install via steam > ...Where did you install it?
The launcher has tools to clean data?.....Did you clean all your data using the launcher tools?
Yes. It does all that stuff you mentioned above with the clicking of a few boxes instead of with extreme prejudice.Wherever Steam installs games.....however the thought occurs to me that maybe I should go and erase all traces of newer versions and try again before I whine too much here....<deletes newer versions....> .. < re-install via steam > ...
Why do they keep stuff in three different places? You have the main steamapps/common directory, and there is also stuff in .local/share/7DaysToDie, and .config/unity3d/The Fun Pimps....
TAADAA! Moral of the story - you can't install an older versoin over a newer version. Something from the newer version hoses it, you have to delete all files with extreme prejudice.
And now off to A13.8 in all it's glory![]()

The launcher has tools to clean data?.....
I figured it was just one or maybe a couple of files causing the problem, but it was quick(er) and easy for me to just manually delete everything - that took like 90 seconds. If I had been thinking, I would have done it in the first place before having steam download A13.8.It seems like there was one file that needed to be copied over from the current version, but I cannot for the life of me recall what it was, or find the fix.
