Nobody says that.

Nobody ever said that.

You should listen to peoples arguments.

If they aren't based on fact its just pure emotion and you can descide if you like it or not.

But if you bring up an argument that is rooted in reality, you should ALWAYS take it into consideration.

Even if it was fortnight in 7d2d.

If he had made a valid argument for it and you had dismissed it just bc its fortnight, you are no better than him.

Never said you don't read it and never said anything about facts being based on emotions, reality, or any dismissal because its fortnite, so your really trying to twist things. It was more about turning 7 days to die into another generic PvP deathmatch game of which the market is flooded with dozens of them atm instead of being something unique and different.

A perfect example is that this game is going to be PvE focused. It's been said to death by the dev's and madmole. Despite people clamoring for PvP its always going to take a backseat to PvE.

Also plenty of people say that, its even taught in business schools, its an Aesop Fable “The Miller, His Son, and Their Ass“

You are surely familiar with the story–a miller and his son take their ass to the market to sell it and along the way they meet several individuals or groups of people who comment or criticize them on their trip. The miller and his son adjust their journey according the comments or criticisms: when told they should be riding the ass, the miller puts his son on the ass; when criticized for not respecting the aged, the miller replaces himself on the ass; when criticized for being lazy, the miller then lets his son ride behind him; and when told they could more easily carry the ass rather than have it carry them, they proceed to tie the legs of the beast and haul it around with a pole. The obvious moral of the story is that if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.

It's common advice especially for smaller companies. Trying to please everyone in the business world is a sure fire way to failure. Oftentimes your better off saying No and losing some customers then trying to keep them happy by making changes that destroy your product.

Yes, but the idea itself wasn't too bad , and i think people have done simular things in multiplayer before, within the limits of the game of course. I like to think of that as a "friendly" pvp mode, and instead of spending hours upon hours on building and gathering stuff, only to have it raided when offline, you play against the other player(s) when both sides have the time. Not much time lost.

Yeah if you read it I even mention parts of it are good, just not feasible right now. We had a horde mode back in A5 or so that was basically part of what he wants minus the PvP centric stuff. It's something that should come back when the game is mostly done or after release where its PvE oriented survival against waves of increasing zombies.

Unfortunately it was mixed up there with make Fortnite with zombies expectations, so you have to separate the good from the bad and of course the multitude of reasons why it was removed and why maintaining totally seperate modes like that in a game that is still being built doesn't work too well.

Oh, you should certainly monitor the arguments... but rarely do the exact thing that they ask for. =P

Battle royale mod for 7dtd:

Create 4-5 identical biomes (looks the same to the players, only different in code)

OR, just use the biome change for visual cues of the active playzone (this way you can find the center before the rings start burning)

Create a map with concentric rings of the biomes in a running order. Manually or preferably script it up.

Mess with the weather system so you can get it to "heat up" each biome in proper order

Edit the weather system to do usable amounts of damage when overheating

(Disable "too strong" items that could counter overheating. Also starter protection needs to go ofc)

I have no idea if the weather system could be easily worked/borked enough to make such a thing possible, but that's the biggest issue I can predict with no modding experience ... :)

I think you've specifically confused "listening to your playerbase" with "caving to each and every player".

Want to have long term success, development is somewhat of a democracy, and the playerbase are your voters. One person's opinion doesn't matter. One person is simply a player. But if several thousand "one persons" have the same opinion, that's your playerbase. And that matters.
