PC 7 days to die alpha 39!!!!

Can we please just finish the game already and optimize it out. You want to add more sure added in a DLC once all the bugs are ironed out. Currently running game on a solid state 16 gigs Ram 4790k i7 with a 1080 GTX and see worse frame rate then other games that are way more graphics. Yes I understand it is a alpha game but let's also keep in mind it's been an alpha now for 6 years. And right now as a player who plays this game it seems like no end is in sight this thing is going to constantly evolve in till the end of time. It's currently gotten to be a running joke on discord.

Fair enough I learn something new about voxel games. And please do not think that I do not appreciate all the time and effort and work that fun pimps has put into this game. Also what about gas storage for the generator meaning a craftable barrel of sorts that holds up to 10,000 units of gas using a wrench you run a hose to a generator.

Doesn't matter to me. Gonna play every version.

Wouldn't bother me if I die not seeing the final product.

When it stops, I will eventually lose interest.. like I have with 99% of games.

The only reason why I would want them to get out of Alpha is if it was the only way for them to make enough money to continue evolving the game.

Cuz let's be honest if a generator has .will say a 300 watt draw it will not hold up 24 hours in real life time before it runs empty.

I see your point .but as one wise man said all things must come to an end. The reason I say that is because 10 years from now graphics cards processors and RAM will be ridiculously fast and if I'm not mistaken to upgrade the game Graphics needed 10 years from now to make the game possibly irrelevant graphically wise to play for graphics they would have to overhaul the game engine. I'm the kind of guy who refuses to play Minecraft because I don't see the point of having a $2,000 rig and play a doom equivalent graphic game in my opinion.

They are on a track now of emphasizing bug fixing and optimizations. Things should start feeling more polished going forward.

yeah because right now I'm dealing with 15 FPS to 30 fps. Game currently installed on a solid state drive with a GTX 1080 with updated graphics driver. 16 gigs of system memory virtual memory set to 13 gigs on solid-state Windows 10 64-bit 2K monitor ultra settings I don't understand my FPS being what it is

CPU is 4790k i7

CPU is underpowered for doing that high of a resolution. Run the game at 1080p, and you shouldn't have issues.

Also with Win10, setting your pagefile to a set size has a strong tendency to decrease system performance.

970 with 60fps. Not using solid state. No special virtual memory settings. However, other people with the 1080s reported the same problems, and others with 970s like me don’t. I do have 32 gigs of ram. Processor same.

No fancy monitor though.

My rule of thumb has always been that if you need to set vm, it’s time for more ram.

This performance difference is likely to show its face on any OS no matter how efficient it’s paging works.

Fully optimized system: i7-4790K 4.2GHz lol 32GB Ram, All SSD's: OS on C, Game on D, G: Only swap file, Steam on E... GTX980TI FPS anywhere from mid 50's upwards toward 150.

I cant wait for alpha 39, its gonna be sweet!

I guess the important lesson for you here is dont invest in alphas, just wait for the game to be finished and it will save you all this headache.

To be fair, this is the best looking voxel game there is, by far. Probably the only ones that come close are space engineers and empyrion. 7 days is better looking and does voxels better than either of those.

Personally I'm happy for it to be in alpha forever as long as they keep improving it. It's not ready to go into beta yet with the AI and RWG issues. Those are game breakers that need to be addressed before worrying too much about optimisation.

Or don't get so wrapped up in it being alpha. Just play the game, and if it causes stress, quit playing and leave a review accordingly. Just my 2 cents. I have bought so many alpha games and some I play for an hour and then dismiss. Some have just enough mechanics that keep me checking.

I have an identical setup only I only have 12 gb ram. I am getting anywhere between 90 and 140fps. I have drops occasionally down to 80 when it gets crazy hectic but for the most part it runs perfectly.

Idk what's wrong with it game was even recently freshly installed not even 2 weeks ago. And I've already run a stress test on my graphics card so I know it's not malfunctioning

Personally, I don't know why you wouldn't want to see an Alpha 39 (though there is precisely zero chance of it... hehe). Can you imagine the level of content that would be in the game by then????

The end of Alpha is a double edged sword, yes, bug fixing and optimisation becomes the primary focus, and that will help the game, but at the expense of new content, which will make this 7Dayser a tiny little bit of a sad panda.
