64 count max zombie

So im in the server config files, and i run across this line:
<property name="MaxSpawnedZombies" value="64" /> <!-- This setting covers the entire map. There can only be this many zombies on the entire map at one time. Changing this setting has a huge impact on performance. -->

Ok, np, so ive been experimenting, and this setting is incorrect imo, Maybe with a pentium II and 4 gigs of ram, that would have been a sufficient setting. I run a 50,000 zombie spawn for whole map, and I run a 100,000 zombie spawn for whole map, and I've ran the theoretical maximum spawns for a map (200k'ish is where it maxes out at), why arent server operators using maximums above the TFP thinks is appropriate.? All players get decent fps, server performance isnt impacted (maybe a 3% rise in memory usage when i monitored it). Again, please remind me of what:
<property name="MaxSpawnedZombies" value="64" /> <!-- This setting covers the entire map. There can only be this many zombies on the entire map at one time. Changing this setting has a huge impact on performance. -->
does because it can be increased without penalty on my servers. I

i have video proof of one of my servers in my other post. I will not advertise cuz i think it advertises, but if u look at post history u can see a 100k zombie server in action,

also my clients low end is 1060ti and renders correctly at high pops

so again, look at my post history, and join a proof of concept server and test the realm, but seriously TFP, what is

Join a server and test parameters and even if you are TFP, i think you will find your arguments negated, at least on my end. I think its way off

Umm.. have you even checked how many entities those servers have had spawned at once? Whether the max is 10 or a 1000, makes no difference if you spawn only 2. How high have you gotten it without issues? What issues you run into and at what amounts? - you ain't running 100k zeds on any server anywhere, the game will croak way before that.

negative, i have a client on day 78 he has 10k kills, im running 50k on one server for entire map, 100k on second server entire map (video evidence included) but yeah, i have it stable and kicking ■■■...im here to say i do it

Day 78 with 10k kills? That isn't much. On my two player game, I tend to have a few thousand by the second horde night just by myself using default settings.

I don't really feel like watching some video, but if you post your server log, that would be better evidence.

Considering players have had FPS drops on horde night before they capped max zombies to 30, I really have trouble believing you have 100k at once.

How many players do you have that you anticipate having 50,000 simultaneous zombies?

I'm not understanding why that metric matters. I mean, couldn't he get to that number dealing with 1 zombie at a time?

Perhaps I don't really grok the situation, but if the horde nights were set to 64 and you had 10 players who were all in separate bases in different parts of the map, then you'd need 640 zombies. If you were just talking about any other day and the 10 players weren't teamed up and all in more ambitious POIs with some roaming zombies around them, you might need 20 zombies each for 200 total.

Or am I off in left field? Perhaps I'm off by orders of magnitude... you have 100 simultaneous players? 1,000 simultaneous players?

I am with zztong on this one.

I suspect the OP is not seeing anywhere near the number of simultaneous zombies they think they are. If the game could perform like that, there would no need for an 8 multi-player cap.
