PC 5 Meat = 1 Charred Meat

They were planning to do just this but ran out of time. The actual names being brainstormed by the team were "meatballs" "strips of meat" and "globs of meat". I like "strips of meat" myself as I can imagine wrapping five strips around a stick and cooking it over a fire to make a charred meat meal for myself.
I also feel like harvesting animals is more satisfying because you get so much more for your effort now and when you take the perk you notice the difference in quantity. I know that technically you aren't getting more but it still seems so.

So hopefully before too long the wording will help some of you inject yourselves back into the game world. :)
The fact this is needed for some people is mind blowing.

Does not bother me, I just assumed it was a balance thing since we get more meat per animal now. If it took five deer to make one charred meat I might be questioning it, but it does not.

I already explained this in another thread. In order for the harvest bonus to work, (20%,40%, etc) you have to start with a granular number. Since a chicken only dropped 1 meat, the 20% bonus couldn't give you 1.2 meat. You didn't get squat. Even for a deer or something that dropped 5 meat before it barely worked. So like we did with gasoline way back, we made it more granular. 1 Meat is now like one ounce of meat, or one meatball sized amount, so that the harvest bonus perks can work.

That said, I increased the meat x5, so your getting the same meat as before, its just different numbers. The only thing you have to do is get used to it, because before if you had 5 meat you were good to go for a day or two.

That said, I have 250 meat sitting in a box, and I never bought any perks to increase animal harvest, there is tons of meat, at least in SP for a guy who travels a ton.

So litteraly the only reason its like this is to make it fit with harvest bonues and perks.

Il take reasonable crafting ratios over gimmcks to make it work within these flawed systems anyday.

Jezus, in all my time on the forum this has to be the most pointless forum topic.
@TFP, please rename "Raw Meat" to "Slice of Raw Meat" and add description "A slice of raw meat, you need several to make at least one portion"
Thank you.

I feel the same way.

It's like people sit there in front of their keyboard, straining for something to complain about.

This is just utter nonsense.

What does it matter if one of this doesn't exactly = one of that?

I'm not complaining about it was just accentuating on what the OP said. lol I really don't care either way but I did want to point out that due to how prominent veggie stew is I don't have any need to make other meat meals and don't have a reason to take any of the harvest perks.

The blueberry pie thing was just fun to figure out and display actual numbers.

I agree MM, food is not an issue if you're looking for it. I actually think farming is still easy mode for food. Right now I can put 3 levels in live off the land and food worries officially go away and I'm making food for 4 people on my server. I have to make sure I harvest regularly but it's not difficult once I get a hoe and 3 levels in the perk. My garden is 5 x 10 so it's not a large area of land.

Personally I would like you guys to put in some AI that would try to attack farms. Make it a toggle like you're talking about for so many other things so people can switch it off if they like. And I'm not just talking about zombies attacking plants either, I think random hordes of pigs that try to root up your garden would be awesome and possibly beneficial if you catch it in time. They may eat your potatoes but at least you got some bacon out of the deal! And have you ever seen deer in a field of corn? They love that stuff. Just food for thought...
