I personally like the farm plots now that they are relatively cheap but I hate the gating behind the seeds. I need 6 levels to be able to craft all the food seeds. I've looted hundreds maybe thousands of containers, made at least a dozen tier IV quests and a couple tier V quests in a single playthrough and I've never managed to find all three of the seeds needed for a vegetable soup (corn,mushroom,potatoes). I personally hate having to spend so many levels to do something so trivial as planting seeds in the damn ground. Ideally one would require more starting seeds and drop the seed requirements . Each level of living off the land would decrease the penalty for making seeds instead of loot gating them e.g. default seed requires 20 crops, level 1/2/3/4/5 of living off the land decreases crop requirements to 10//8/6/4/2 or something so that if you have a lot of crops from loots you can still craft a couple of them and sustain yourself in the long run.
Or better yet make living off the land like in A17. First level allows to create seeds and each consecutive level increases seed production by 1.
Or just copy paste the minecraft style where your crops need water to produce crops and compost accelerates growth.
Anything but rank/loot gating honestly.
