2.0 Storms Brewing - When the dedicated servers flip on, how many people can it hold safely?

thanks for the feedback, but i was more on line of think of high end servers like Nitrado or Host Havoc or something.
Something that wouldn't be sitting on my gaming laptop with much lower equipment specs compared to a genuine thousands of dollar's server's.
Again though, this is when dedicated / cross play hosting servers comes online; perhaps June 30th if all goes according to plan.
Some sites imply can hold plenty fine 16 to 24 ... but.... well, not 100% sure, hence my post here..

It doesn't matter what server you use. The game only support 1-8 players. Even though some servers ignore that and allow more to play, those are not supported and console won't likely be able to join those servers.
 
The question of the number of players is a question of server performance. Some people choose this number experimentally.

The 8 player number was chosen to ensure minimal hardware specification needs. with 3EUV chips on the horizon and super high performance datacenter servers as an option in the future, that number could change, but there would have to be some backend changes to allow for proper support.
 
People have run 30-40 semi-successfully, but I don't know about now. Development often goes in reverse for some features in this game so it very well could be that even experimentally you won't get much above 8 without problems. Sad, really.
