PC 1st solo day 7 horde lasted from 22:00 - 4:00 is this the new normal?

I am playing on everything vanilla settings to get a taste for the default experience.

Solo - 8 count

I started at 22:00 at level 17 game stage 24
Ended at 4:00 at level 21 game stage 32

It didn't stop all night. It was absolutely exhausting and I thought the game was bugged because I had never had one last this long before playing solo.

Do horde night last longer/all night now, or is this just a function on my game stage?

I believe this is the new normal. Horde goes all night.

It *can* last all night, as long as you are not able to kill all the zombies the game sends to you in the final wave (now the "trickle wave"). I've finished the day 14, 21, and now 28 hordes a couple of hours before 4 AM. The "trickle wave" doesn't last all night, rather it's treated like a normal wave in that there are a set number of zombies that will spawn.

I setup a standard hall way base for night 7 horde, everything standard on game settings, Dire Wolves turned up which was new (and welcome as a surprise tbh). However, it continued from 22:00 - 4:00, as per the original query, can anyone confirm this is actually a new mechanic, as this is going to prove very important for base design and conservation of ammo etc

Yes, it is the new normal.  As explained above, it isn't a guarantee that it lasts until 4am if you can kill fast enough, but it is intended to last until 4am now.
