PC 17a Some concerns...

So... Been playing for about 5 hours and baring the crippling frame rate and the fact that difficulty mean nothing...

Why does this game now feel like the only thing its missing is a premium currency?

30 minute buff cards, 1 hour death penalty, extreme punishment for being low level, locking EVERYTHING behind arbitrary level gates, lots of weapons you can't sell to the traders, weapons parts and schematics level locked, and even at level 300 only having 26 points remaining to unlock everything... All this is missing is "pay $5 to skip the wait" and "for $3 you can get an XP boost for an hour" about the only thing left is "guaranteed level 6 gear" loot boxes when logging into official servers.

Since I've had some time to think, the "Shader" excuse in June seems to side with EA's Loot Box problem. Add on a LOT of this is starting to feel like Chinese/Korean MMO or Fallout or EA.....

What devs said:

We want to have slower pace, hordes and zombies scale to time played, level of player and deaths he suffered.

Random player:

Why can't I have everything now?

It is also the very first game I have ever seen to actually have consumable buffs and I'm too silly to understand that literally ALL RPG games have them since forever, so I'll throw tantrum like it was F2P MMO.

Oh no Kat, I have over 700 hours in the game. I was talking 17A, but good assumption though. And this ISN'T an RPG, this is a survival game, if you want an RPG Might I suggest fallout 76.

I played for 5 hours and THEN did the XP to see what the end game percs would be during a LIVE ALPHA TEST OF A GAME and it's flat out broken and every part of the update is screaming "Premium Currency Soon"

I was actually thinking of making a post like this, but didnt want people taking it to seriously, and attacking me.

Why the hell would you lock health increase, honestly by alpha 20 im expecting this game to have real cash store.

A17 has changed 7d2d completely. Its not the game that has been for the last 16 alphas, its not a game for me as things stand. Sharing xp, receipes which unlock perks etc. no thanks.

I also understand all this might change couple of alphas later.

Ehh.. This is where you are wrong kiddo.

It's an RPG and a Survival game.

A role-playing game is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting.

Players take responsibility for acting out these roles within a narrative, either through literal acting or through a process of structured decision-making of character development.

The fact that you don't want it to be a RPG does not change the fact that it contains all elements of a RPG.

No no no and again no. If i want to play an RPG i would rather hit Fallout 3 or 4, not 76. That is not a fully fledged, story driven RPG. Not only does your actions not matter, the world feels empty, but also it's heavily leaning onto PvP (which isn't all that great there).

Back to topic, I haven't used any of the buffs yet, though i gathered quite a lot from a Crack-a-book. Haven't seen a point yet, but i guess when you would like to build a minibike, have the intelligence but not the skill, you might use this buff. Or in some other similar situations.

Effectively, as of this patch, 76 and 17A are pretty much the exact same game, we just have less mosnters, story, interactions, and weaker AI. We're just missing the Cash Shop, Nukes (that we can mod in later) and Laser Gatling guns.

Indeed, and oh right each of those blueprints, leaflets and magazines take up as much space in your level locked inventory as 6000 bars of steel. :/ "But unlock more space for $3.95 soon "
