PC 17.3 RWG Biome Soup - Any Remedy?

Every map I try to generate is a spotted leopard of unrealistic, spastic biome placement... I'm sure I'm not alone. Is there any way to fix this? I've yet to find a region of earth where one can walk 10 miles and pass through forest, snow and desert. It's like God lobbed a frag grenade of weather systems down from the heavens! Only a tad jarring

yeah percentages seem a bit scattered. not so many, larger biomes would do rather then the mess it is now. Generated new 16k map and got 2 nurseries and a half dozen radio towers right in font of me. Bad luck or still not fixed properly? Roads were still messed up too.

It generates the highways in 8k, but doesn't seem to put them in for 16k. Mind you, it can gen a LOT of cities very very close, so roads not needed so much. My seed had a 7km stretch of virtually non-stop cities. (who needs highways)

:D

I change it so over 50% is forest. 5% mademole minefields. still tweaking.

You could edit the biomes.png to alter the biome distribution to your liking ... or use NitroGen...
Based on what I'm reading, you start a new game, exit out, then go find and edit the biomes.png file for that world. However, I have no idea where to find it. I've looked in the Steam folder for 7 Days under Worlds but don't see anything new. Anyone know the path to find these things?

The worlds are generated by the RWG and saved to

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds

into their subfolder (the world name)

there are those images.

If you can edit the biomes and splat3 (roads) map.

Just be sure to not change the color palette in the biomes (no blurring etc). 7DtD is a very picky librarian and complaints if the RGBA values are not precisely what it wants.

The splat map has currently the alpha set to zero (bug maybe), but the colors are still in the image.

After editing the world images, you need to start a new world-savegame from this generated world

..or you could use my world generator, and get a custom world with a few clicks....

Just tried out Nitrogen. SO COOL!!! Amazingly quick as well. It let's you make some great builds with far less quilt/patchwork biomes.

Here's the biomes.png I made, turned out pretty well! I made the base image in MS Paint 3D using the pixel brush (no dithering), saved as BMP, opened in Krita and then saved as PNG. For some reason PNGs out of Paint don't seem to load when creating a new world. I may toy around with "splatter" brushes in Krita and see if I can figure out how to create some blending between biomes. FYI, this is for an 8k map

I had no idea you could do that. If you ever get a good biome mix can back that up and use it again for the next game version, neat.
