Hey there everyone, I am having the same issue as reported here on the latest 1.0 version on Proton as this report from 2023

I tried proton experimental and proton 9.0.3 and was running into the same issue

EAC doesn't like to work with Proton.

Game is Native Linux, so the fix would be to stop using the Proton emulator.

First off yes it does, there is literally multiple games that use EAC and run in proton not to mention how most multiplayer games work on Linux hence why proton easyanticheat runtime and BattleEye Runtime exists, secondly Wine which is what proton is based on stands for "Wine Is Not a Emulator" proton isn't a emulator it's a compatibility layer.

Also the reason I wanted to use the Windows version under proton is because it has has better performance with DXVK compared to the native Linux version that uses OpenGL by default and Vulkan for Windows and Linux is a experimental feature.

Far as I've been told, Proton is pretty much a use at your own risk sort of thing since we have a native client, especially when it comes to beta releases of Proton, I'd expect some issues

Hmm maybe back in 2018 when it first came out but that isn't the case today also the native client has performance issues, still uses OpenGL instead of vulkan and will utilize 99% of my RX 6700 XT so I wanted to see if the game performed and behaved better in proton using DXVK instead until the native version is fixed and performance is improved.

I hope this issue can be resolved so we can use proton again.
