Console [07/11] - Message from the Team - Progress update

Hi Clare does this mean there will be console updates soon as the updates seem to be only for PC, I personally think that this is simply unfair I apologize if this comes across as Rude but it is so frustrating. Thanks in advance
Someone hasn't been reading.

TT went bankrupt and laid off many employees and Clare being one of them. So she has no information anymore to share. Actually have not seen her in awhile and it sucks lots of us miss her. Anyway TT currently has the publishing rights to console even if they didn't make the game. So until TFP get those rights back console will not see any updates.

Then on the other hand of things. The PC version is in alpha it is where it started and TFP will not stop updating it until they are finished with the project. They will keep updating it even if console can't handle anymore updates and even if console is currently unable to update due to legal matters. We have no idea how long it will take for TFP to get the rights back so they can at least update console once more depending if console can handle a update past that or not nobody knows at the moment. It will be most likely be awhile before the legal stuff gets worked out so the options are this.

1: enjoy what you have for good while.

2: move to other games and forget about it.

3: get a PC and get the game on it as you will have everything the game has to offer plus more that the console will never see.

Either way it sucks but it isn't unfair. TFP sold the rights to another company for them to handle console and they failed. They have responsibilities to the PC version to finish a alpha project that people invented in so they are going to keep doing that. Luckily they are some good people and are looking to get the rights back so they can move forward with the console version the best they can. So if anything be lucky for that. But really as I said console will never see everything the PC has to offer so eventually console will not get anymore updates and PC version will keep moving forward it is just the way it is again not unfair.

Well spoken crazywildfire I enjoy the game even without the updates only thing console people can do is wait this is nothing new. People need to be patient in this matter. Legal matters takes awhile to get back.

Pretty sure Iron Galaxy was working on the update not TTG. The info we got in an earlier post about the update said they move to Unity was going well, but now we have no idea. Someone knows what is going on, they are just choosing to not pass it on. Normally for bankruptcy you sell your assets to pay your debts which all gets approved by a judge. Or at least that is how the bankruptcy worked at my last company.

That's what's going on here as well, though not through a judge. It isn't "bankruptcy. The company closed, the assets were placed with a "liquidation" company and are being sold off to settle debts. The simple truth is, the rights to 7 days to die have no monetary value, not even to TFP but the liquidation company musst try to get something out of it.

Yes, Iron Galaxy was working on the update. However TTG is the Publisher, and was in control of the assets. Until they relinquish control, no one can do anything with it.

The least that could be asked is to fix the bugs.
Well you can ask all you wish but legally they can't do any kind of update regardless if it was even a bug fix update. I highly doubt TT will fork over any more money on the game and as of now are the only one that can release an update so that only leaves console to wait it out for the legal stuff to get worked out.

i wished they would communicate more. the last info was in july. i know the ttg issue is a problem right now but no progress updates is a little aggravating. also something needs added for late game, get repetitive after day 50, theirs nothing else to work towards. i'm loving RDR2 right now and i check here monthly for any news only to be disappointed.

It would be enough if they added a menu to set enemy spawn rates completely manually for everyone who wants the tower defense element to come back into the game and optionally a permanently rising difficulty which forces players to give up at some point because the hordes become to hard to fight after a while

Much more challenging - without an incredibly big update.

Until either A: TFP decides to fess up with some cash and buy back the publishing rights from Sherwood Partners or B: Sherwood Partners decides the rights have no monetary value due to the piss poor porting and the long list of bugs that have all but destroyed the future sales potential (not likely but true) the game will remain as it is. TFP cannot legally update the game as they do not have the publishing rights.

This is a waste of a viable game that was ported too early, and handled poorly in an attempt to make a quick buck.

On the bright side, it has given me enough motivation to look into buying a PC!

April 9th 2019. That is the date to have your claims in for Tell Tale Games assets. So I doubt we will hear anything before that date, and more then likely after a few days after that. There is a leaked document out that I cannot find that lists what assets they are trying to sell. Or at least according to this article there is info out there.

This is the only document out there.

That news is kinda old though.
