Console [07/11] - Message from the Team - Progress update

I think this has or i just remember reading it somewhere. Hopefully we get all the zombies that pc version has and this will somewhat remedy that.
Just in case we would only get the new zombies. Only those would be enough for me to start a new game because they bring tactics back to the game and make it challenging after becoming too easy due to the dynamic horde system.

As you said somewhat. No setting PC has makes the tougher zombies spawn on day 7 horde. You have to mod the XML files to have that. If they match it to PC horde night will be based on the level you are at and the last time you died. So even if you don't die by day 7 your level still will not be that high and if it is 7 days lived isn't that long really so the first horde still is a little easy.

What I wish for is the difficulty setting have a impact on this. The only thing I have seen from it is the higher difficulty the more bullet sponge zombies become. I would like difficulty level to have more of a impact on lots of things. Example yes on PC I can max out how many zombies per player on horde but as above it is still based on level and death so first horde even if I have it maxed out unless I edit XML files I will not get maxed out zombies that i have it set to. So i say that if i play insane difficulty i wouldn't mind the zombies to be a little more spongy but would like to see tougher zombies sooner and the tougher ones to show up faster on horde nights.

Anyway I don't play insane because it really don't add a challenge unless I want spongy zombies. If some changes was made to difficulty I would play probably on th highest they would like to offer. Make them a little more spongy but have more of the harder zombies spawn more often. Add where they show faster on horde nights and not on day 40s. Even add it where it takes more to knock them on their backs and not because it is more bullet sponge. Maybe a few other things but those would be the better stuff IMO.

They could give the options to change the settings which are modified by changes in XML files. Just an opportunity to reach the XML settings within the menu where the rules are set.

Patience my good man, patience! I'm as eager as you are to get the update but lets give them plenty of time to hash everything out so this update will be as awesome as we all hope it will be. This could be our biggest update yet & will hopefully make room for even more awesome stuff in the future!!

I am eagerly waiting the update before start playing again, even although I have PC version. Need to get some console time in.

Is there going to be any enhancements or benefits for Xbox One X hardware? Im not expecting miracles, however the slight better hardware, ram and GPU should help. Better textures or smoother frame rate would be an example. Videos of PS4 Pro seems demonstrate slight benefits over a stock Xbox One . Thanks. Any rough ETA on fix please? :smile-new:

I am sure this might be pretty unsatisfying for you but many of us are thinking that there will come another bunch of information this month probably about the patch content and the patch itself will be released in October. This is what I think and after I posted my guess here many guess confirmed that they agree with me and my estimation.

Considering TT and IG don't come to the forums would be my guess to why they don't answer any questions. They give Clare information and as soon as she gets that she updates us. They haven't been known to give anything up until they are ready to do so. I agree it would be nice to get more information but it is what it is the way I look at it.

I can only guess and could be way off. I know PC updated to to Unity 2018.2 around the towards the end of when they was getting close to releasing A17. They thought it would help a lot and they was right. They thought it wouldn't be much issues but they was wrong so they been dealing with some extra unknown issues because of it.

Now maybe or maybe not can only guess but console might be running into similar problems and they are trying to work things out. Maybe they didn't try to do the same and they are still working on things as scheduled. Like GermanPatroit said he guessed around October and I made a guess it would be about the same between October-December. I might of said September-December but either way when they said later this year and seeing how much work and how long PC has done even before they updated to Unity 2018.2 that this kind of update isn't like other updates. What they have to do is a lot work. If PC didn't update to Untiy 2018.2 it would of still took a long time with what all they had to do and the coding for the game was made for it. Now console has to do the same but also do the ports along with it to get things to work on console.

I know everyone is looking forward to the update and is ready for it even myself is ready and looking forward to it. I know people are looking forward to any new information and again even myself is looking forward to it. As much as I understand this I know it is hard but try and be patient it will happen before you know it.

Oh i agree 100% man. I'd love to get any info. I'm just trying to not get my hopes up for expecting certain features that i personally want or possible timeframes for release.

I am pretty sure that we will see the paint system. This should not be too difficult to port it to consoles but is a big benefit for many players. I like blocks with wooden surface most because it's kind of an oldschool look.

Another new week is upon us. Maybe we'll hear something in the next few days..........hopefully.....
as much h as I want to see it, I hope they take the time to get it right. the last few updates have been relatively smooth but there's been a few I'd like to forget. number 2 or 3 comes to mind, when they broke MP for so many, took 2 or 3 updates to get it fixed too. I'll keep my fingers crossed but dont expect any news in the near future.

Like the developers said, the update is about to be released "later this year" and we already have August so new information will be coming soon.

One thing is for sure. With the upgrade to the new Unity engine, it is almost guarunteed that old saves will not be compatible.

Keep that in mind as you wait.

I have been anticipating this. Personally, do you think my old saves will be unplayable or just minus all improvements?

Un-playable as in there will be too many changes in the core data for them to be compatible.

I mean, I could be wrong, but I really doubt it.

Yes, you are probably right. The way how hardware and software deal with each other is changed completely so old saves will not be playable anymore but if the difference in performance and features is as big as we expect, you will not want to play the old stuff again. I think the framerate could be increased a little bit, along with faster landscape streaming and more stability so that it will deliver an entirely new experience of how the gameplay feels (especially for you guys on XB1).

And I am really looking forward for performance changes helping everyone who ended up screwed by having freezes and slowdowns during harder fights. Many guys here on the forum told us all that by far not the whole hardware power of the consoles is used at the moment and the engine upgrade probably makes it possible to use hardware resources which have been remaining unused yet.

But how excited you might be about these things I doubt the old save games will be running anymore. In my opinion there is a chance of 10-15%.
