Console [02/08] Message from the Team

While I appreciate your view on E3, your logic would remove remakes and remasters from the E3 line up. However, I dont think that an update will drop at E3 for this game. The game it's based in is unfinished, and putting the console version out there like that before the base game is done would only harm the reception of the base game. With that said, depending on how close they feel PC version is to completion, I could see that version showing up at E3 this year or next.
Then Im afraid you dont understand the point.

Remasters are sold ANEW. They are new releases.

You will not see this game at e3 simply because it serves no purpose.

E3 is for industry (traditionally) but in recent years has included the public at large. So, to portray a game at E3 means you wish to showcase a forthcoming product to retailers for them to order, or investors to get behind (if youre a bit earlier in development).

So, for a game which has been out ages, never mind it being early access, has no purpose being here. For the tens of thousands it costs to rent a space, transport material, and sit there promoting, you arent going to make any interest from retailers (as they either already have it or can get it), nor investors, nor even the public.

To understand the issue its simple. You have to understand THE PURPOSE. And this just doesn tfit with e3s purpose.

I think devs can work now more efficiently without having a hype (or freight ? xD) train to deal with.We won't be left behind, that's what matter.

Please give the devs enough time to program the update and debug it correctly.

Hey, be careful all folks !Devs are bound to provide us a fully debugged game, nothing more.

On consoles, we have bought a game in "final" release, this means there will -or not- be more features, but this is not mandatory.

You can expect more features in a paid DLC, as you pay for additional content.

You can expect no or few additional features in free updates asyou get what you paid for.

Just a reminder, devs needs to eat too ...
Please provide your evidence that no further updates are coming, as it clearly flies in the face of what is said here by the devs.

You know, i really wish people knew how to read and understand the language that they supposedly "speak." The guy said NOTHING about there not being any future updates. He simply said that, as console players, we purchased the game as a "final" product; which mean the devs are not obligated to add new features if they DON'T WANT TO. Never said that they wouldn't, just that they don't have to.

Au contraire!

Then let me quote the part he stated "you can expect NO MORE updates"

However you spin that, it is an absolute statement which remains contrary to the fact that the op stated we can expect content this year, at some point.

Granted, I did get the point about what you are ENTITLED to, but that final paragraph does not say that.

If he didnt mean that, fair enough

Clarity is everything.

Oh, and no, us on console havent exactly bought a final product. When I bought it on ps4 it had the description that it wasnt final and to expect changes, bugs and the like.

So, it fails both in fact and in comprehension.

The fact remains we CAN expect further content, alarge one at that, some time this year, contrary to his claims. End of.

Oh and before you go making crass accusations again, just be extra sure youre not wrong yourself. Im happy to admit I may be wrong, especially as im a professional writer (albeit old and grizzly now), but there is no way his statement is so clear as to be taken the way you claimed only.

yes, he used the word "expect." as in don't expect any updates. as in "lower your expectations" because they aren't guaranteed. yes, the post says an update is coming "later this year." but you shouldn't EXPECT something that isn't required by the devs.

Im sorry, but you seem to be missing my point.

What he meant by "expect" in the parts you are referring to is irrelevant, as I didnt address that.

I addressed the claims I quoted ONLY. Namely, his claim that there were no further updates we should expect, and that anything forthcoming would be paid dlc.

He CLEARLY stated this, without any ambiguity.

So, I asked for evidence to this claim as it runs contrary to what the devs have said. That is all.

Please stop trying to make this something more than this is, and claiming I dont know basic english comprehension.

Claims always stand on their own merits. He made THAT claim to which I queried for more evidence.

I dont care if he further went on about the fashion habits of deepwater cod. I addressed that claim ONLY.

Again if he didnt mean that, or he has some information to add, he can respond either way.

Shall we please leave it at that?

Oh and as regards expecting something the devs arent required to provide? Thats complete nonsense in regard to a statement they made about an update. If they publicise their intent, then it SHOULD be expected. Thats how it works. This is basic business and economics. Im sorry if youre not aware of this.

If they werent sure, they would simply say nothing. In fact, theres considerable legal precedent for this.

First one I can recall was back in the early 80s, when Mattel were selling the intellivision. They had publicised they were going to release a keyboard and a BASIC interpreter cartridge. People bought the console based on this. Much later they stated they were dropping the idea. The were forced, legally, to turn it out in the end. Granted, it wasnt much cop, but thats besides the point.

Then, to take it to a more recent case, No Mans Sky. Sean Murray promised a number of things which didnt end up in the game at the point of release. This quite rightly warranted a legal refund, even for providers like sony.

So, sorry, but both legally and morally, if someone states x is going to happen you absolutely should expect it. And as 7DTD was released early access, this underlines it even more.

well, firstly, i was not referring to any specific update, just updates in the gaming world in general. i will take the blame for that because, no, i did not explain that very well. Simply stated, one should not look forward to ( definition of "expect," btw) anything that is not mandated. And yes, i agree that we shall leave it as it is. I do not wish to get caught up in some long winded argument. I will say no more of this. Good luck.

Well, @Claire...the PC Version gets Info after info regarding the new A17...Can we also get some news ?
Personally, I wouldn't hold your breath. Console developers are notoriously tight-lipped on what's being released.

I addressed the claims I quoted ONLY. Namely, his claim that there were no further updates we should expect, and that anything forthcoming would be paid dlc.
You're wrong.

You're read my sentence emotionally, missing some key words in it.

So I will explain it.

Please remember my sentence :

You can expect no or few additional features in free updates asyou get what you paid for.
I intended to say "no or few features" and that"s exactly what's I've written.

That's means "none or a few ones".

I did not write "no features".

I just wanted to remind all QQers PC version is officially a separate one, and no one can consider PC features not on console as "missing".

And as 7DTD was released early access, this underlines it even more.
No, it was released on consoles as a final product. Buggy, but final.

It's sold as a finished product of the a14.7 version of the game. What you have, is what was in the PC version at that time. New PC content may or may not be added to the Console version.
EDIT :

Then let me quote the part he stated "you can expect NO MORE updates"
Hmm, weird imagination isn't it ?

Just try to stick with reality, and quote real sentences, not imaginary ones.

Free updates are great!

I never buy a game expecting more to come. With this one, I was hopeful that there would be updates because when I researched (watched YouTube videos) I realized that there was so much more in the pc version. I’m excited to find out that there will be more to come and look forward to it. I only bought this game about 6 months ago but have already got so much entertainment from it that I know I got my money’s worth for it. That being said, I look forward to the possibility of electricity, new weapons and or vehicles.

If the side discussion between you guys doesn't stop, you may all be sitting in a corner nice and quiet like for a while.

What a joke, this site.HOnestly, theres is coming 1 more update anymore i think,i hope there is NOT TRAPS,just something that keeps you playing,i hope,HOPE that someday there can be game, that includes 32 player etc.

The PC version is the version still fully in development. The console version has reached its peak due to system limitations. They are attempting to add something big, but it will depend on the optimization to the game engine and what they can get away with as far as the system limitations that come.with consoles.

As far as Clairmproviding more information, she can only provide the information she is supplied and allowed by the team to share. There is no point in asking for more info. If she had ot and could share it there would be a new post.
