Im not a massive fan of the Eula but that's all ill talk about..and perhaps when the game is more polished i dont want to look up anything about it and hopefully they will at least reword it betterAnyone else playin Subnautica 2? Diggin it so far. Between 7 Days and the Subnautica games, I just keep coming back, ignoring all the rest of my games.
Icarus isn't bad, and I see potential in it. But it also feels a bit "off" with some things. I think I'll get past those and like the game, but I haven't given it too much chance since I've been playing Night of the Dead instead. Things like storms that break your base, and if you don't know to research and then make a hammer, you can't repair it. And if you don't realize it early enough, you may not have points to research with since you only get them when you level up. That isn't critical, but the lack of any notification about that, or even just making the basic set of tools unlocked when you start, is odd. You can get animals to follow you to train them, but there isn't any information about how to actually train them, and I believe it'll be some unlock later even though it lets you get them to follow you right away. "Quests" that give you a large area to try to find something in, with a lot of ground cover (grass, bushes, etc.) that makes it very difficult to see what's on the ground... it's all just little things like this, but they do add up. I think I'll still end up liking it, but we'll see. It also has really poor graphics for me, though I can't raise them to the higher levels as the performance of the game isn't great and I have a computer that's around 8 years old. So maybe graphics would be better for someone with a newer computer.Yea more than likely Icarus is next on my list. Already on my wish list.

Doesn't Icarus suffer from the ARK problem where the majority of content is locked behind paid DLC's? I've heard the base game is lacklustre without them.
I haven't gone far enough to notice, but so far it seems fine.Doesn't Icarus suffer from the ARK problem where the majority of content is locked behind paid DLC's? I've heard the base game is lacklustre without them.
A bit, but can be played with just the base game.Doesn't Icarus suffer from the ARK problem where the majority of content is locked behind paid DLC's? I've heard the base game is lacklustre without them.
I have been watching the neebs crew playing those very same games you are talking about: Windrose, Subnautica 2 and Vein. Vein definitely needs more time in the oven. lol.Right now I'm just waiting for 3.0. I'm not playing anything at the moment. It's pretty rare for a game to keep me hooked for more than 100 hours, but I always come back to 7 Days to Die.
I've been thinking about trying Windrose, but I'm not sure. I also wanted to play Vein, but it feels like that game still needs a lot more time in development before it's really in a good state.
I'd also like to try Subnautica, but I've never played it. I have a fear of deep, open water (if that's actually a thing), so I've always stayed away from it.
Or maybe it's just me, but I feel like there aren't many truly good survival games out there. There are a few decent ones, but 7 Days to Die is still way better than most of them

Honestly, I'm weary of the themes present in Subnautica 2's story. Enough with the transhumanism in video games already. Silicon Valley's obsession with that confused ideology is depressing enough. Now, we have see it in every other video game. Others' mileage will vary wildly, of course, but I'm absolutely sick of it, whether it's played for "horror" or not.I'm already on my second playthrough. Even if it was never updated again, it would still be worth the money.
The story so far is also more interesting than the first two installments. At first, you think it's basically the same as Subnautica, but it's much darker.
I've never found any of the Subnautica games scary, but adorable, wondrous and enjoyable* and...have not an ounce of patience left with every YouTuber who claims Thalassaphobia and acts scared to death for "engagement" purposes. They probably never even heard of Thalassaphobia until it was suddenly on every streamer's lips. Those who honestly suffer from Thalassaphobia might benefit from playing the games, but I wouldn't recommend it as a substitute for real world, dive on in there therapy.Thalassaphobia: an intense anxiety triggered by vast, deep and dark bodies of water.
