PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

amazing...this thread post was opened on the 27th of February...it's the 27th of April...guess we gotta just hope "we" don't drown in the flood of information. lol
All that because of the Behaviour Interactive deal; but I agree with you, it's very frustrating to suddenly get no news at all.

It's sad because we could count on Faatal (and a few others) to get a few upcoming new things to talk about, but now, it's complete silence. I know why they don't talk, but it's still upsetting.
Even on X, there's no posts, except for content creators stuff that most people don't care about, and the Fun Pimps store sales (that most people cannot even order from since many of us are not in the U.S. I mean, they don't even accept orders from their next door neighbours in Canada... Unbelievable!).

It went from barely any news, to no news at all. I know some people will react to this with a cookie, but I don't eat them since I would be over 300Kg if I did. I you have to, make them chocolate chip cookies... My favourite!

We can only hope that, when everything is set with Behaviour, we finally get better communication (of course, I don't know how Behaviour Interactive already are on that front with their games). It could still take months before anything happens.

This is a new chapter in my life as I for once agree with HammerDano. 😁

@Prisma501 Cookie reaction please!

What does anyone expect to hear aside from what's already been announced? That TFP will continue working on the roadmap, perhaps with some assistance from Behavior and its developers down the line and, once the roadmap/game is "finished," Behavior will take on a "more active role," whatever that means.

A new roadmap no doubt would be appreciated by the more invested, but who's to say BI and TFP aren't ironing one out as we speak? The acquisition is too recent for even their own representatives to know how best to allocate resources and set priorities for the game acceptable to both parties. All will be revealed in time, not instantaneously.

I expect Behaviour Interactive to allow people from TFP to explain why there's a communication black-out right now. I wish them (would be nice) to share what they're doing in the "backstage" for what regards the reorganization of how the game we love will be handled from now on.

I know, I know, it's wishful thinking...

Most likely, the merger has made it so that TFP isn't allowed to discuss anything until the merger is sorted out and BI decides what can or cannot be said. Not much TFP can do about it if BI says to stay quiet. Unless faatal is on vacation, this seems the most likely scenario because faatal is rarely MIA for so long. Of course, he could just be very busy with 4.0 and whatever small parts he's doing with 3.0.

considering they also said that nothing is changing and implied that they would be around to finish the job...I guess you are right...all I can really expect from the outgoing party is more BS...doesn't leave me with warm and tingly feelings about the new guys. just taints the "relationship" before it really begins.

Both Parties just finished a lengthy process, we can assume a lot of money changed hands, a lot of due diligence should have been expended...also, I suppose, a great deal of conversation about what TFP wanted to accomplish with the game vs what BI will want to do to recoup their investment. If the New Guys did not already have a plan together about the future before buying the IP...well ■■■■...It would leave me with a fair amount of dread.
They probably should have also known that they were taking on a fan base that is fairly toxic and tired of waiting...add on the shock of a sudden sale? I'm just saying all parties involved should have been better prepared to speak to us before announcing the sale. imo.

So...going off topic to actually discuss the game...

Would be nice to get a setting to return resource generation back to the pre-biome preference days. Not a fan of having to drive a couple kilometers to go mine something if I didn't get lucky enough to have a couple nodes spawn near my base.

A setting would be fine— just so it’s just a setting. People complain that there’s no differentiation between the biomes and so no need or incentive to actually travel anywhere to acquire things unique to each biome or unique to specific POIs.

But then as soon as TFP implements a bit of that someone else complains that having to travel to another biome or find that specific POI to get their thing is inconvenient and they’d like it if everything was close by.

But for sure as an optional setting…fine.

If it was for special stuff that was higher tier or something, I'd be fine with it. But having to go 5k to get coal (haven't found any near me, and the snow biome is 5k away) is just not fun. Especially before you have a motorcycle.

Similarly, I was lucky in that I had a lead node near my base, but having to go to the wasteland (7k away) to get lead for robotic turret ammo would suck. Especially before I was reasonably able to actually survive in the wasteland.

Again, if it was special stuff that would allow me to make better gear (that I wouldn't need massive amounts of) that would make the higher tier biomes easier, that wouldn't bother me at all. But simply basic materials to make basic things is very, very annoying. For example, I don't mind Darkness Falls or Undead Legacy restricting higher tier materials to the Wasteland, but those are high tier materials for advanced equipment.

Sounds like you’re playing with a map size that is outside your own fun zone. But I get your point. Personally I think certain resources should only be found in certain biomes regardless of how commonly used they are. I wish snow was a more commonly useful substance and if it were I wouldn’t want it showing up outside of the snow biome even if it was 5km away.

But options are good so hopefully there will be one for you.
