You need to be careful with stability, especially with farms. As plants (or trees) grow, they can cause a collapse if they are on a location that has low stability already. Think of it as them getting heavier as they get bigger. It is a good idea to place some kind of support under your farm (just around the middle if it's small, or perhaps multiple supports if it's really large). It is possible it was caused by something else, but since you mentioned the farm plots, I have a feeling that was the reason.
I don't think it was a weight issue. Why would it split off at the land claim, precisely?
It may just be coincidence. It'll break at a point where stability is changing, which is related to how close things are to the closest support. That could end up being at a land claim boundary. If you show some screenshots of the collapsed area, including any supports, it might help to verify if that's the likely cause.

I don't know what exact block GNS is using, but I think it's a dynamic pair of railings. Like catwalks/stairs with the railing that disappears from the middle when you place two next to each other - but just the railings. And when that middle railing of "just the railings" disappears, what's left? And I think it can even be "advanced rotate"ed...

Each "floating" railing is the top of a pillar of railings, perfectly structurally sound, with player-craftable blocks.
Basically, the block makes it so you can have invisible (but still tangible) vertical supports just by rotating it on its side. Zombies can still attack them, so it's not really cheating, it's just useful for aesthetic purposes.
You're looking at pillars of essentially air blocks, made from blocks accessible to the vanilla player. The dynamically adjusting railing blocks happily adjust themselves out of existence when capped by blocks at the railing sides. This can be turned into an air pillar.
It's a hack, basically. When placed on their side, on top of each other, they disappear. People cheese them to make floating bases. It's funny how people complain about stuff like armor bonuses being "magical" and yet people build floating bases. At least with the armor, you can come up with explanations for why a bonus is on them, even if it's farfetched. But a floating base? Heh.
Do you expect us who dislike magical armor just to stop using using armor altogether; or can we complain about bad design and still utilize it while it exists?
Some have asked for plain armor option so they could avoid the bonuses. You of course won't just not use any armor. But floating bases are entirely optional.

If a block has vertical support, it is always unlimited. Only horizontal support has limitations.
