About reworked yeti and mummy

ALEXZANDER

Scavenger
Will not pour a lot of water here and will get straight to the point!
The reworked yeti and mummy now look better and more logical with new models! More of that magical stuff needs to be removed from this game because it ruins the athmosphere of the zombie apocalypse!
I am only worried that these two zombies will still remain a biome specific! Which kinda sucks cause i am forest only user
The only suggestion i can give about them is to just increase the cooldown of their abillities by twice

So you lock yourself to one biome out of 5 and complain about lack of variety? You can't limit yourself like that and then complain about the game. You're doing it to yourself.

I'd imagine you'll see them in hordes at least, but unless you get close enough to the snow to spawn some and they wander into the forest you probably won't see them otherwise.

They'll remain biome specific. They intentionally made a biome specific zombie for each biome other than the forest, so it's not likely they'll change that. Besides, I prefer them to be limited to specific biomes. If I don't want to have them bothering me all the time around my base, I can just build my base in a biome they are part of. Having the terrain around my base getting broken because of the frostclaw or having to constantly deal with bees from the plague spitter would get annoying quickly.

Just curious why Forest only, safety? Seems like you're missing out on a lot of fun.
!just my opinion!
1) Snow biome - this bull■■■■ comes straight from minecraft and i dont like it (which fits in minecraft only imho) - maybe pcs werent capable of running season mechanic for sandboxes back then when snow biome was introduced in 2010 idk! Seeing it in other sandbox games of 2025 is a facepalm! I would rather prefer a snow season with proper athmosphere! Considering that navezgane is located near desert zones - there must not be any signs of snow as a permanent event! Currently its has even less sence because temperature mechanic was removed for rework!
2) Burnt biome is a cringe, in reallity its just burnt place with no plants at all (in 7 days its still has plants somehow which is dumb)! Has cringe gamma which looks bad! Also isnt a permanent event and is artiffical itself!
3) Wasteland is alvery strange and cringe nowadays (in old alphas it was radiated and required hazmat suit which was logic - later was removed), has cringe stone surface which is very dumb considering that after nuclear bombing (and navezgane is far away from the explosion center) - dirt still remains on its place! Wasteland must not be a small biome but instead, cover all maps smaller than 10-12K (within the conventions of 7 days of course) (also all buildings (especially their windows) must be heavilly damaged from nuclear shockwave which i dont see)! Nice biome for challange only (like wasteland only map if u want to simulate fallout)! Never had need of it
4) Desert biome - a difficult location with very low amount of plants (unlike 7 days)! Desert geography is well made on navezgane map! Nice biome for challanges! Never had a need for it
So for me, forest is the only natural and organic biome (others are bad made and lack of athmosphere)! Sadly lacks proper ecosystem and wildlife

I love the snow biome. I try to get over there as soon as possible to set up my main base. Can't wait until temperature is implemented again so we can make campfires to keep warm like in past versions. Then all we'll need is cans so I can melt that snow for water! 🥫

I respect your opinion about what you don't like about the other biomes but this remembrance is not true. The wasteland was never radiated or gated by requiring the use of a hazmat suit to enter. None of the biomes ever were atmospherically hazardous prior to 2.0. The borders of the playable map used to be radiated but since they served as playable area borders, you would die within seconds of crossing the border regardless of what you were wearing. There was no way to survive outside the map border.

Biggest reasons why I avoid multiple biomes (when I do as I normally don't)
  • I have very large maps in an attempt to get one of every POI spawned (to the best of my ability) which makes traversal harder over distance
  • I tend to build a base before the first horde rather than a rat hole I can ignore after and I dislike having to move my base
  • I am a hoarder and moving tons of items around is annoying and I prefer a singular large stash rather than small boxes everywhere (with some drop off exceptions)
  • Forest is arguably one the most aesthetically pleasing biomes with a large variety of flora and lack of discolored shaders

I don't mind it as much. It's function overrides it's more mystical nature. I suppose they could do some elevation work to have it make more sense but I don't think it's needed. I think snow returning to the forest would be nice but I still enjoy the snow biome. It's a staple of the game I have grown to enjoy.

I agree. The aesthetics of the burnt biome and wasteland need some TLC. Radiation pools, smoldering trees, remnant fires, more trees. There really needs to be more visually in each of those two biomes specifically. The snow biome could use some ice and desert some variety as well.

I think some of what you are saying makes sense realistically, but it's not practical in a game. Also I don't think the hazmat suit provided protection from anything other than the temperature.

The desert doesn't really have a low amount of plants. Trees perhaps, but not plants.

I would like to see more wildlife such as birds, etc flying around to provide ambiance to the game.

Personally I would like to see the original models of both Frostclaw and Plague Spitter stay in the game along side the new models. I think the artists and the coders creating the behavior/ movement of them did an incredible job and wouldn't want to see all that hard work tossed or unappreciated.

Curious what type of "magical stuff" would you like to see removed? I'm sure the vision The Pimps have for the game does include some magical aspects. So if you're looking for a more hardcore survival game it probably won't happen.

It would be kinda cool to see some surprise Zed types show up when you least expect it, but that happens already by letting Screamers do their thing.

Also part of the reward, challenge of the game is to get the player to venture into the tougher biomes. But it sounds like you're just not impressed with how the other biomes look esthetically? Correct me if I got that wrong.

There was a mechanic of radiation for the wasteland biome in A16 - it was just disabled by default! U could edit xml file and activate it!

I will be adding the current Plague Spitter zombie model back into the game in my next zombie mod pack. I'll have him spawn in the Desert only but just be a regular zombie and not spit bees...unless I get ambitious and model a beehive into his head and neck area like the beehive zombie from the Walking Dead World Beyond.
But I will not be adding Frost Claw though.

And I like biome specific zombies. They make sense. It's what you'd expect to see in zombie movies, or if zombies were real. Obviously the climate and other environmental factors affect decomp and such. It's good storytelling.

Also, regarding the OP...the Plague Spitter has a chance to spawn in any biome during horde night starting at gamestage 91, and Frost Claw can start spawning by gamestage 97. The probabilities start off fairly low, but they increase over time and eventually reach a point where they're guaranteed to spawn.

I've also found that Frost Claw can spawn as a POI zombie outside of the Snow biome. I've had him spawn regularly in the Correa Rockworks POI regardless of where it is located. That is common on random gen maps for biome specific POIs that spawn out of their Navezgane spawning locations (i.e. POIs in the Burnt Forest on Navezgane are hardcoded to spawn Burnt Zombies. So regardless of which biome those POIs spawn in on a random gen map, Burnt Zombies will continue to spawn). So I've had the Plague Spitter spawn in the Navezgane Athletics Complex POI even when it didn't spawn in the Desert.

What's odd about Correa Rockworks is that it is a Pine Forest POI on Navezgane. And the same goes for Area 7. It's a Desert POI on Navezgane but I've had Frost Claws spawn in it outside of the Snow biome.
