    Stolen Content

Thanks for the extended analysis. The terms and TFP's comments and actions have appeared to me to be harmlessly inconsistent. If anything related to mods were ever taken to court (and didn't end in a quiet settlement) I'd go find some popcorn and be very curious how it turns out. If I had any...

    Stolen Content

In thinking more about this, I can see what you're saying and you might be right. But then why am I being allowed to distribute my mods? Shouldn't I just surrender them to TFP? Unless I become an "other player" and distribution is part of "use and enjoyment." Is that how it works?

    Stolen Content

If that's true then that's where an arm-chair lawyer like me get knocked on our butts. But I don't think it is. If it were true, then isn't the creator prohibited from distributing what they created? Everything we made available via NexusMods, 7D2DMods, GitHub, etc would be in violation of the...

    Stolen Content

I agree that credit is the best outcome. The arm-chair lawyer in me would quibble with the notion that TFP has all the rights and that he has none. I think the TOS means TFP is granted a license, not ownership. That said, whatever got created needs TFP's game to exist. Also, if you included...

PC Why is there still nothing in the game that can keep you dry?

My mistake, it is a truck now with a roof, though it doesn't have a wind shield or windows. A missing wind shield in the snow biome would be really cold.

PC Why is there still nothing in the game that can keep you dry?

I thought it was a Jeep with an open top. I guess I haven't looked in a while. I tend to use the motorcycle.

    The Race For The Forge

I make it a priority to find a cooking pot in a house or restaurant on Day 1 or 2. The forge can wait a little while.

PC Why is there still nothing in the game that can keep you dry?

The cowboy hat and the duster would have been nicely waterproof if they were still in the game. I once dated a young lady who grew up on a ranch and she described how they were designed to funnel the rain off the hat, down the duster, and off of the horse. I do find it odd that the character...

PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

I'd prefer to get insight on what they're doing and think they might get some early feedback from the community, but given that many folks turn that into unreasonable expectations, or jump to bizarre conclusions, I can see why they don't.

Do you do deep scale mining?

Not in a long time. In the past I would have to make ammo or to build something, but I play stealth so I don't use a lot of bullets unless it is horde night. I tend to find what I need. I'll mine some to have some base building resources, but my bases tend to be small and often involve working...

Would you trade out the burnt forest or whatever biome for a new biome

I wouldn't mind seeing Burnt Forest being a subbiome of the Forest, but I can't really think of another biome that's worth replacing it. I don't think Grasslands is compelling. I could see a mountain range, but that's probably not conducive to POIs.

PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

Does that mean there's no reason to make a call for those content creators to sign up? I mean, what if there were new content creators? They would have to know where to go to registered, I think. Also, wouldn't those content creators potentially have events scheduled out for a week or two and...

PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

My memory of things was that it took 4-6 weeks to organize a streamer weekend, but didn't some part of that get outsourced? I guess what I'm saying is if somebody is starting a pool for when 3.0 becomes available, I would be looking further out than a couple of weeks from now.

Those sirens are really loud. Ours has the ability to make announcements and I can understand the words over a mile away. To go out onto the top of that building you must wear some serious hearing protection in case the alarm sounds. I've not been assuming the sound of the siren is just the UI...

    Crashes to desktop

I saw a StackOverflow exception at the end, which had me thinking recursion that ran away. The available stack trace only showed calls to logging functions, which I thought was weird since something would be calling on those functions. I gave your log file to Claude just see what it might tell...
