The missed post from JaWoodle

Sure you do you. Your insinuation was wrong. Your question is answered. You re welcome. Any more questions?

-edit- your words: If I'm correct, it makes me wonder if TFP were embarrassed that after promising bandits for so long, that they just decided to use something some modders created and call it a day. " would love for someone to show, unequivocally, that I'm right or wrong." -> you are making the aquisation/insinuation. Prove you re right. I already know you re wrong, but lets see what you come up with besides insinuation and aquasations.
Yeah having seem Jawoodles video
What's sensible about compensating someone for committing a petty crime? He had no right to do what he did. If TFP accidentally gave him a real gun instead of what was supposed to be a plastic gun, that doesn't mean he's legally allowed to blast the supermarket with zero ramifications and have all blame placed on TFP.

TFP made two mistakes: Giving him the wrong build and trusting him at all. Now they have to deal with this stupid drama, deal with his malicious community openly defending a criminal no matter what anyone says, and dealing with yet another review bomb. It's clear to me that Jawoodle and his hive mind are not the good guys in this situation. I hope TFP has learned from this and will be lot more careful when dealing with content creator

Jawoodle committed no crime. Fun Pimps made an error and expected Jawoodle to eat the cost of fixing said error. Lame.
Post automatically merged:

What does that have to do with woodle? If you want to create a "TFP used be terrible and didn't listen to its community" thread feel free.

At the moment, they are listening and doing a decent enough job that I feel warrants praise.
Actually the way they are handling the current Jawoodle situation indicates they are still terrible so yeah connected.

You seem to have access to the private negotiations that JaWoodle stated he cannot and will not make public. Would you mind sharing? So we can see who's fault it is? TFP or JaWoodles. Thanks in advance man!

I find it amazing to see TFP fanboys complaining about Jawoodle fanboys. Honestly I am not a fan of Jawoodles content overall because he is just too high energy for me. Its good content but not my cup of tea. BUT I respect his values and that he fights for what he believes in. I do watch his content a bit but again too high energy for me so I take it in small doses. I think he did a great service to 7d2d gamers with his post on the 2.0 mess.

Shame and makes me wonder if TFP had a grudge with Jawoodle and tried to use the wrong version sent to him as a trap. Or yeah it could have just been incompetence. Make no mistake a game studio that ignores players then are forced to listen arent going to have the warm and cozies for Jawoodle.

I am not seeing the contents of the private negotiation. Maybe you forgot, but can you please post so we all can have an informed opinion? Again, thanks!

It would be a pretty stupid trap, IMO. At best they get to .. kick him out of creator program. Just doing that directly would've been easier, and less of a PR hit.
This is also the team that just sent the wrong version to actual consoles. Version control doesn't seem to be their strong suite.

Ok, if this is confirmed, it's the second time this happens... WTF is going on there?
Unless the merge with BI brought up some chaos in servers and version management?

Maybe the game is now stored on BI's servers with a completely new package and delivery job?
Could explain why these mistakes have surfaced in the last month or so.

The problem is many of the people here are hysterical. It's black and white for them. Josh is perfect and TFP are evil or perhaps even the other way around.

If you have been on the forums any length of time you would know I can be plenty critical of TFP and their decisions regarding the game. The difference is I keep it professional and use a proper method for feedback. It's not "TFP are idiots" nonsense. That will get you nowhere fast.

This isn't directed to you necessarily but the trend in general. People should try and be a little objective about things and offer proper feedback when needed. I mean you are suggesting that TFP set Josh up due to a grudge. That seems a little unhinged.

It´s been more than 24 hours since his video and there is 40K playing right now and like 3 hours ago it was nearly 50K. Just because people watch some influencer doesn´t mean they stop playing when there is a situation like this. Sure the hardcore fanbois most likely, but that is not the majority of viewers.
I’m not sure of the less prominent streamers/ content creators, but the black list and softer grey list contains at least;

Having read this entire thread, I think one distinction is being repeatedly lost.

There are two separate events here:
  1. JaWoodle’s original publication using the build officially supplied through the creator programme.
  2. His later refusal to accept the precise editing and removal remedy demanded after he was told that the supplied build was incorrect.
People are entitled to criticise the second decision. You may believe he should have removed everything immediately to preserve the relationship. You may believe removing him from future creator events was justified.

What does not follow is that the first publication was therefore a knowing leak.

According to the correspondence JaWoodle presented, Behaviour acknowledged that there was ambiguity around build access and versioning, that he received a build labelled as 3.0, that he did not intentionally seek out the incorrect build, and that providing the incorrect build was their responsibility.

The release notes identifying the intended content reportedly arrived after his videos had already been filmed and finalised. His video went live at the stated embargo time, and he says he was only told after publication that the build was wrong.

Once notified, he did not simply ignore the problem. He pinned a correction, clarified the features were not part of the public release, repeated that clarification during streams, stopped additional publication and cancelled planned Instagram content. He refused the full remedy demanded of him and attempted to negotiate an alternative. You may regard that as inadequate, but it is not the same as refusing every form of cooperation.

The legal advice also did not begin because he decided to fight over a few hundred dollars in advertising revenue. He says a formal legal demand alleged an NDA breach and warned that further legal or platform action could follow. Once that occurred, obtaining legal advice was a normal response.

None of us has the complete NDA, creator-programme terms or legal correspondence. Therefore, categorical declarations that he unquestionably breached the NDA, that the copyright claims were unquestionably valid, or that he acted maliciously are not supported by the public evidence.

The reasonable criticism is:

“Once told, he should have removed or re-edited the material immediately.”

That is an opinion about courtesy, trust and commercial judgement.

The unreasonable claim is:

“He knowingly stole or leaked restricted material for clout and money.”

The evidence currently available does not establish that.

Likewise, there is no evidence that TFP deliberately set him up or that the entire incident was manufactured for publicity. Speculation does not become fact merely because it supports whichever side we already prefer.

The record is complicated enough without inventing motives for either party.

@Kandrathe And yet the number of players is as expected a while after a new release going from 20K up to 50K within 24 hours.

Taken from Steam Charts as i am posting

24-hour peak

You can pull up content creator numbers and lists all day long, still doesn´t change the number of people playing. The majority of players doesn´t give a flying fish about content creators even if they watch videos. If one content creator goes down, they still play. If one content creator goes to another game, they still play 7 days.

The game is constantly showing up in the top 50 most played games on steam right now. If you look at the all time graph from 2014 until today you won´t be able to find the first big review bombing in the graph. That´s how little the majority cares.

You are highly overestimating content creators. Sure they are a factor, but no one who enjoys the game will stop because of a content creator besides some hard core fanbois. I have watched videos from every creator except 2, that you listed on youtube, even subbed to some and i am still playing 7 days to die.

My main interest is the game and not everything around it like content creators, dev streams, if they sell the company or not, etc. And that goes for most players. As long as we enjoy the game we will play: Even if i think TFP/BI should have stopped at the copyright strike and legal threats are over the top, i still won´t stop as long as i am having fun playing.

It might look bad if you center your opinion about the game from the standpoint of content creator scene but that´s just an opinion bubble that doesn´t represent all players.

I don't understand. Are these people who got removed from the creator program? I see a lot of them have new videos on 7D2D so they seem to still be playing. What is this black list/grey list stuff you are talking about?

Nah, Kandrathe posted a graph from Twitch and I suspect leapt to a conclusion.

Obviously, not all CCs stream content they provide edited content. If they do stream, not all of it is streamed on Twitch.

A majority of those on the Twitch list only provide streamed content and do not provide edited content.

A notable absence of GNS, who has branched into streaming on both Twitch and YouTube, and Neebs.

A lot of those people in the chart are big name streamers that primarily play other games or a variety of games. A lot of those views are regular followers. Coh is a prime example.

TFP has no input on what builds to use, Sony just picks builds from some TFP internal repository?
I'd imagine they had sent in 3.1.0b13 for certification for a stable release. But considering PC didn't update till this morning and Xbox hasn't yet that I know of. So how did only Sony release an update?

I don't know the process, tbh; but Sony does a lot of releases, they prolly have their end nailed down pretty tight. Otherwise there'd be a whole lot weird releases going up .. maybe there is, I don't follow consoles at all.

Looked to me like Sony did that, not TFP.
Wait, does that mean everyone can just download any random version and spread it all over the world???
As far as I understand, a develope/publisher sents their version to Sony, Sony does certification and when passed the distribution.
So it seems unlikely to me they blundered here, more likely TFP pulled another Jawoodl...
(The actual silence on this forum from their side on both matters does not help taking that idea away)

As I said above, they obviously send the builds to MS/Sony for certification, but I'd imagine they don't immediately release them as soon as they pass, as TFP tries to sync all platforms to release together. So not sure why only Sony released it yesterday when Steam and MS didn't. Who knows what happened, but I can't imagine TFP wanted 3.1.0 going out to any platform on a Sunday morning.

Either way, not sure what any of this has to do with the Woodle situation, so don't be dumb.
