PS can not create my own map

I can not create my own map on the PS5 currently. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I minimize all Biome types except for pine forest which I maximize and erase all mountains and hills. Traders are off and all quests are off.
It's basically my own Romero game version. But I can not save this map and I can not give a name to it. I have no other saved maps either. So, there should be memory space for my new map.
I still can play the game with the pre-built PS5 maps and my settings, but not my own map. I was creating my own maps on PC and inserting prefabs and even editing the source code back in the day. So, theoretically I should not be too technically inept.

Consoles have a maximum map size of 8K (8192). Make sure its not bigger than that. XBOX Series S is even capped at 6K (6144).
Does console even have the option to make a map bigger than they can use? I wouldn't think that would even be an option.

This may be one of two things off the top of my head (taking a picture of your map creation screen with your phone and posting it would probably help):

It could be that you don't have enough space. Consoles only allow you to use a certain amount of space for this game, regardless of the amount of free space you have. If you already have games saved on your console, you can archive them or remove them before making your map. If it's a space issue, that can solve it.

It could also be something you're missing when trying to create your map. That's where a picture of your screen would help.

Not having saved maps doesn't mean there aren't saved games, though. They said they're playing pregen maps, so they likely have saved games. Maps are larger and will use up the space more quickly, but saves can quickly use it up as well. But you're right that it could definitely not be that. I'm leaning more towards something just being missed when trying to make the map and a picture would say for sure if that's the case. But I just wanted to list the only things I can think of as possible, even if they might not be the problem.

I play on the Xbox S...I only play on 8 k maps. I don't know where you got that "fact" from.

turning chunk persistence down to short increases the amount of save space slightly. I wonder if they have a map already generated and they need to delete that one before they can make another?

Today there was/is a huge PSN outage. I don't know if cloudsave synchronisation can disrupt creating neew saves. Try again when PSN is up and running again?
