Stability in a voxel game isn't as easy to figure out as it might seem. For example, you build a room and all the stability shows as green (good). But you don't notice that the stability is due to a single, commonly destroyed item such as a trash pile. As long as that's there, the stability is perfect, but as soon as it's destroyed, it isn't. Unless you go through and test every single item that can be destroyed, it's very easy to miss problems until someone finds them later. Considering the very large number of POI in the game and most have no problems with stability, I would say they've done a good job. Any stability problems are really no different from any other bug... it's just something that needs reported and will be fixed. The POIs in this game are all really impressive. But can we stop with the pretty buildings that have wonky or poor durability? Tried of Lord-Bearing Torch Syndrome.
Yeah, tents are especially troublesome because the tent blocks intentionally have low "glue" so it doesn't take much to cause a collapse. I wouldn't worry about those since that's probably not going to change. But POI that are using normal building blocks shouldn't collapse without a good reason (such as destroying a pillar that supports something). Things like looting a trash pile or other container causing a collapse isn't what you want to see happen and should be reported.I have noticed this when breaking down military tents, some fall on top of me after breaking down a bed frame or breaking an IV cart. I always thought it was on purpose acting as a trap of sorts to cause some minor injury.
Do doors provide structural stability now? I know they used to, then they removed it (because people were building pillars out of doors and zombies didn't attack open doors, or some other exploit I can't quite remember) but given that broken doors have left over frames now, maybe they do again?Entry ways (without a door block) poke holes in a wall's stability, but modern construction uses a header to strengthen those holes for doors and windows.
I thought they always did, but I'd have to check. I thought it was open doorways that I had to worry about, but I could just be misremembering.Do doors provide structural stability now?
