Just some ideas

I play on console and dont really ever post here but thought id post some ideas or some things i think would be cool additions to the game. (I really really want the large wood gate you see on trader hughs compound to be in survival to craft, use and upgrade!)

Remove stone tools and pipe weapons and replace them with rusty versions of normal tools and weapons that can be cleaned or upgraded to remove rust and increase stats.

Add a hatchet that moves like a stone axe

Ability to have multiple sleeping bags all active and Ability to fast travel between them

Lock picks working on all locked doors.

More bladed weapons such as a katana or generic sword.

Add a jackhammer as an upgraded tool to break up stone.

Add a mad max style car to join the already existing vehicles.

Weapons specific workbench

Ammunition work bench.

Bring more items from creative mode to survival for crafting. Example. Doors and gates.

Just some ideas I currently thought of, would love people to add to this!

I am definitely for all of the above.

The gate idea is great. Start with big woodlogs and then slowly add sheet metal and finally replace with iron gates. The drawbridges are cool, but so late game I have never bothered to build them.

It's silly we don't have a hatchet, but we have a fire axe. I never use the fire axe because it's SO SLOW compared to the stone ax. A small iron/steel hatchet that has the same swing speed as the stone axe would be awesome.

I really don't understand why we have a forge and can craft ingots, but we can't make a basic sword. Knives should have 2 different weapon types as you level up Knife Guy magazines. They should have a short blade and a long blade variant.

Bone Knife/Scrap metal blade (think club split half way down with sheet metal pressed into it sticking out both sides) Like the pic below with rope tying it between the gaps

I like the sleeping bag idea. One of my pet peeves about the game is you'd spend so much time going from point a to point b.

More creative mode decorations available for crafting has always been something I've wanted. Easy enough with a mod, but it should be available without needing a mod. Besides, mods aren't available for console.

I don't think we need to replace pipe weapons with rusty weapons. A pipe weapon is meant to be a handmade weapon, which is a good starter weapon option. Also, crafting a pipe weapon makes sense, but crafting a rusty weapon? Also, rust doesn't really make a weapon less powerful for many kinds of weapons. About the only ones that might be less damage are bladed weapons, but even then, unless you're trying to slice something finely, a rusty bladed weapon is really going to do practically the same damage. If you're talking about extreme rust to where it is falling apart, then that's just weapon degradation that is already in the game.

Not sure if fast travel between multiple sleeping bags is really needed, though I'd like to fast travel between traders you've located. For sleeping bags, I'd be happy with just having an option when dying while having a sleeping bag to allow you to choose to spawn on bag, spawn near bag, *AND* spawn near where you died.

Lockpicks on locked doors has been requested many times. There is a problem with that from a game play perspective, though. And that's probably why we don't have that option and may never have it. TFP chose to make most POI have a dungeon-style design where you are funneled through a specific path. Locked doors discourage leaving that path, at least for new players and many other players. You can still leave the path, but it's a clear indication that you're not supposed to go that direction. If you can unlock every door, it removes that indication because in most games that let you lockpick doors, those doors are still intended to be used and people will lose the intended path. Now, whether or not anyone likes or dislikes the intended path style of POI, that is what was decided upon and so they aren't likely to make it so easy to leave the path for newer players who don't realize there is an intended path yet. Also, leaving the path if you're not a veteran and familiar with the POI can make finding every enemy in a clear very frustrating compared to following the path that brings you to every enemy. Anyhow, I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but just pointing out the reason we probably won't see this. Besides, if it comes down to it, I'm not wasting lockpicks on a door when I can break it down easily. About the only doors that would be worth using lockpicks on (but don't have that kind of lock so it wouldn't make sense) are vault doors because of the high durability.

I love swords and wouldn't mind seeing them in the game, but I doubt we'll see a separate class of bladed weapons. Maybe if they add unique weapons or perhaps even part of their legendary weapons they've talked about. Maybe even if they add a 4th tier to weapons, then a sword of some kind can be after machetes. I can see those being possible options.

Why a jackhammer? There's already an auger.

Why have so many additional workbenches? Many players already stack workstations because they want a small base. This would make it harder to have a small base. We already added 3 new workstations - dew collector, apiary, combine station - and they are adding a chicken coop. If they add more workstations, I'd rather something other than just splitting up the workbench into multiple versions for different things.
