PC V3.0 Dead Hot Summer Dev Diary

Does anyone know off hand the name of the new tiles?

They are commercial, industrial, and rural T tiles with a number of something like 03 on the end, so look for...

rwg_tile_commercial_T_03
rwg_tile_industrial_T_03
rwg_tile_rural_T_03

... and they are all a single 100x100 POI. This helps with RWG's modern preference for avoiding Cap tiles, which had been where the larger (often higher tier) POIs could be placed.

I got a iron axe and with a magatuide with melee, attack speed but for me more importantly stamina! Base stat was 8.5 stamina and threw on a level 2 ergonomic grip and it went down to 6.8 stamina! THIS BAD BOY IS AWESOME

Okay now this is just getting silly.
It's more silly when it runs along the middle of the road and includes the embankment. I'd think there would be something that could done about the roads, at least. What do you think, Faatal?

When a map is produced with anomalies like this, I usually run across a one block high rise in the road, I'm presuming at the "seam" between where one section of the terrain starts and another ends, or the corner of a POI sticking out into the road at an angle. Seems like road sections (and surrounding terrain) could be ensured to be at the same height by algorithm, but I'm not a programmer, so I don't know.

Thanks ZZ!

@faatal
This is a low priority request. Can you ask whomever is responsible, can there be an
option to set a dominant spectrum. Meaning in the biomes, if all 5 are in a yes no list,
and at the top is an over-ride selector that has a single spectrum example desert.

So if desert is chosen, and all of the others are set to off, you will have the desert lighting
in all of the biomes. The storms, and particles would not be affected.

Presently there are two active choices in game and 1 passive. F1 Spectrum desert, edit the
biomes.xml, copy and paste the spectrum line in all other biomes, or accept the default flashes.

EDIT: I just thought of this while reading another thread. If I have the initial player quest a protection
turned off, then why does the Biome spawner not start until between 8:00 and 8:30ish game time.
Yes...Yes it does.
I play at the 120 setting, moving around as I get the the resources, have an extremely short respawndelayworldtime,
increased volume, so it is easier for me to see the result when they start popping in.

All the new signs in POIs are made by the designer of each POI using the tools within the sign tech. editor.

Currently, they can only be created in the level editor. We hope to expand its use to normal play in a future version.
Would it be possible for the sign editor tech to be used for custom game mode icons? When sharing your preset code it could display your custom icon as well. Would be especially cool for streamers and other context creators when sharing presets or challenges.

Not right now. I have thought about making them a rare-ish quest reward or loot room item.
Will have to talk to Madmole and see what he thinks about it.
They should be rare in broken vending machines or super rarely on shelves like 5%

I would rather them be drugs rho

it is probably too late to ask but what are the odds on an option for a mono-biome option in the next update? it would be so, so ,so nice to be able to just have a pure-desert and not a desert plus that one chunk of the map cordoned off that we never visit for reasons

I like the idea of not being able to buy or sell to the traders, BUT, this means there is no possible way of acquiring a Fergit'n Elixir. I wonder if there would be any way of disabling all trades except for that (and Solar Panels too, because I think those are attainable only from the traders?). Maybe have the elixirs be really rare in T4 loot chests (like 5% chance), or be able to buy them from vending machines for the same price a trader would sell them for? At least for the elixirs. I don't care as much about solar, but that would be nice too.
