PC V3.0 Dead Hot Summer Dev Diary

Went into the stream with neutral expectations, and honestly I'm pretty impressed with the sheer customization already in place. Even wild ones like the max tech tier you can loot and craft are pretty neato!

I did hear how there's going to be a separate forum for suggesting options so I'll be waiting for that to go into detail, but one I think would be pretty neat is being able to tweak loot abundance based on POI Tiers. In my case, I would love to slightly increase the loot you find in tier 0/remnants to encourage looting those more, and spike up the loot you encounter in Tier 5's (as I always found those a bit underwhelming in relation to the considerably higher effort you need to clear those). I think it would add just a bit more flexibility to the loot you can find, and given the other loot options I feel would slot in pretty well!
 
I feel like someone at Fun Pimps saw my suggestion of honey-based food and implemented them into chicken-based food. Like I suggested some food have no smell or give infection immunity, and they doing that for Ash Chicken Stew and Chicken Wings in the future patch.

Also for the options toggles, under Misc, I see there's option toggle for "vehicle entity damage" and "vehicle self damage". Can you please make those same options for Traps (spike traps, blade traps, shock traps, etc) as well? I'd love to have them do more damage and last a bit longer.
 
That was a very old build of the game and I would assume nothing from what was shown.

I know there will be improvements and I did noticed things looked different in his video like the hud for settings was the old one not new

But its the general idea I see and I know its not finial but from what I see i like. And looking forward on how they will improve

(That and with bandits alot more people will see what yall are doing and not go off here say ya know what I mean)

Sorry if I missed this... But when this releases into experimental, is there going to be a process where we all can request settings to be added? I know the devs said they wanted us to make these requests (obviously no promises).

The bug reporting forum would be fine, but these wouldn't be bugs, so maybe there should be a separate way to do it?

I’m pretty sure they are keeping a heavy eye on this post and those created in the Pimp Dreams section.
 
I have a suggestion, not about the options, but listening to what a person said made
me think about it. Since there is the: I will call it absolute death options for the zombies,
meaning headshot only, and headshot finisher, then when using molotovs can the altmat be
used to change all affected at certain amount of health, into the flaming ferals. and may they
possess for a limited time only the power of the feral hand?

So if you bleed out a zombie, with a bone knife, and have headshot finisher active, can
you open handed power swing and decapitate them now?

So if Jawoodle was on an older version, and it was V3.0 B205, what is the release version
for pc experimental at this point?

If that's the case, then I would like to officially make a request:

Set XP gain percentage by source

7D2D currently keeps track of the experience gained from these sources, separately:
  • Looting
  • Harvesting
  • Killing
  • Other
It should not be too difficult to be able to set these percentages separately. For example, you could get 50% XP from killing, but 150% from looting.

Ideally, this should be similar to the biome percentages in RWG, such that decreasing the percentage in one source should increase the percentages in other sources. But that is a "nice to have" and not required for this feature, at least IMHO.

EDIT: And of course, if TFP decides to create new categories for customizing XP gain, I and everyone else who is reasonably sane will thank you.

So a recording of the 3.0 dev stream isn't on the TFP YouTube page yet. Is it going to be released there eventually, or is there someplace else I should be watching it?
As someone else said, it can be found on Lathan's (fubar_prime) Twitch page. That will usually have any dev streams available shortly after the live stream ends and is a good place to see stuff before it's available on YouTube. I think he removes the VOD from there after a while, so YouTube is your best option once it's on there.

Well that's good, they looked more like zombies lol!
I think they look like Orcs. Definitely hoping they look more human in the final version.
 
...Here's to hoping for a setting to allow magnitude to be included on crafted items. I don't need even more push for this to be looting simulator 2026.
