We need some real PvP trophies, so we finaly can see how many PvP players we have.
Don't see how it could even have any PvP, when there's only 4 people and you can't even see the players on the map, unless you agree to a party invite, which nullifies the ability to even kill eachother. Plus, the odds of even finding eachother blindly on the smallest map is like 1 in 1000 chance. It definitely ain't like COD PvP, nor doesn't need any PvP, it's not that kind of game.

Ask @Grandpa Minion :sneaky:

Is your point that because you are averse to change, it affects you negatively?

Else please elaborate, since I can't see why adding 1 or 2 items you can leave or do for fun hurts the experience.
No, the game is already set to what you see now, adding more trophies and challenges would be pointless, considering how old the game is. If they were to add more trophies, it would more than likely cause backlash among the players who already platinumed the game. Plus, if they ever wanted to change or add more challenges and trophies, they would of done it a long time ago, instead of waiting this long.

That would not have to be an issue as the new trophies were treated like DLC. If you look at ARK, that game has several groups of trophies wich were not needed for platinum. Same for Hell Let Loose: Every new map has new trophies but the platinum is only for the base game.
Given the fact that it is still early acces in spite of the version numbers, it only would made sense that trophies are not set in stone yet. Just not sure how Sony thinks about this and if that actualy would matter at all.

Ark is a totally different game on it's own, it lives for map DLCs, each map is a new world with new content separate from all the other maps, which is why it has new trophies.

That is not the point, we were talking about possibilities of adding new trophies/achievements. It is possible without conflics, if platformholders accept it.

I get the point about trophies and yeah there can be work-arounds. But they also work as challenges. I wouldn't mind a new page of challenges as the bulk of the current ones can be done before week 4 if you apply yourself (basically, the hunting relies on finding enough spawns plus the demolition man requires a lot of the same PoIs or a luck of the draw at horde nights).

Not sure why game age matters. For me, the game is less than a year old and hasn't reached its shelflife yet. I also see vast changes coming about with v3, so the spirit to continue developing is there.

Challenges aren't just about reaching a goal, the journey is also about showing you a side of the game or tactic you may not have considered. This is why I came up with the club one. Especially in the 2nd/3rd week where you start getting your first coloured monsters, the wights and bikers are especially tough to kill. With a sledgehammer, trying to keep them down will drain your stamina, but with a club you can keep them down and kill on the 4th/5th/6th shot.

I'm sure you're not the only one who suggested new trophies/achievements in the last 12 years the game has been around. But, if the game devs were interested in adding new trophies/achievements, they would of done it, they're focused on the game roadmap, as they should, and evidently new trophies and achievements aren't part of it.

My suggestion was a joke to be honest since there have been discussions where trophies were (ab)used to "prove" claims. Personaly I don't give a flying F about them. However, my joke was also an attempt to see if people can think of more meaningfull trophies but to one took the bait.
Also adding these would not be a huge impact on development, just a simple 1 time event triggered by simple statistics.

But going back to your previous response:

ARK is not that much different from 7d2d: Considder v1.x the base game, then every major update can be considered like the addition of new maps and would actualy deserve a new set of trophies.
Why? Trophies/achievements are ment for player engagement so it would not hurt the game to add 3 or 4 trophies specific aimed at the major "upgrades" of that version.

This subforum exists in part to get crowdsourced (free!) ideation and validation. It can shape the roadmap, as it would in any agile environment. Also the fact that nothing has happened with it in so many years is both a point for and against. "It's about time" or "Never gonna happen" are both stances one can take. In the end, a product manager has to weigh the business gains, risk, effort and user demand.

It is not unusual for games in development, including games released as early access, to add more achievements at the end of development. There is no reason they can't do so if they want. Consoles don't prevent adding new achievements at any point in the development of the game, including after the final release. They do have to be approved, and there are a few minor restrictions, such as them not changing the "platinum" trophy requirements, but new achievements are definitely allowed and do not require a DLC to add them. The question isn't whether or not they can add them. It's whether or not they will add them. Personally, I think adding more is a good idea, so long as they are good achievements.
