PS Robbed

STRIKER--99

Refugee
I didnt realize that my server was public or that anything like this could happen anyway but my friend and I were ribbed. Someone [name redacted to prevent Naming & Shaming] hopped on our server and literally took all of our loot and damaged our house. We are both old guys, 50 yo. We dont have hours and hours to play, only casually after work for a couple hours. We have many days of time into playing and storing tons of loot.
Is it even possible to restore a save from before this happened? (5/20/26 @ about 11pm)
Is it possible to ban this person for this incentive act?
If all that the work we did is gone, the game is gone. That makes me so sad but I dont have the time or the heart left in me for it if this cannot be reversed.
Please help.

There are settings to prevent people from joining your game. If you leave it open, others will likely join and there are always going to be people who like to cause trouble. There's not really any way around that beyond making sure you set your game settings to not allow random people to join. Leave your game unlisted, set the max number of players equal to you and your friend(s), set a password. All are options that can prevent the problem. In going on 2000 hours in this game, I've never had someone join my games who wasn't invited, so the options do work.

Unfortunately, once something happens, there's little you can do about it. If you don't care about achievements in that specific save, you can enable creative mode and give yourself back whatever was lost. That's pretty much it. With PC, you could backup your saves and load an older save if something happens, but most don't do that. In the end, just continue the game and you'll recover everything in time. I understand the limited time available to play, but all your most important loot (your gear) would still be on your characters. You might lose resources, but they aren't that hard to recover. I know it's frustrating, but this isn't a game where you are going to have lost very hard to get (unique) stuff that takes tons of time to grind to get it. Everything is easy to get with a bit of time playing the game, which you would have been doing even if nothing happened. Keep playing like normal and you'll soon have things looking like they did before. Alternatively, start a new game and use this as a learning experience, treating it like a tutorial. If you're new to the game, you've learned a lot about how to play in that save and can use it to do even more in a new game. The game is all about playing many games.

I'm sorry I can't give you a fix other than creative mode, but change the game settings and you won't have to worry about it again.
