PC V3.0 Sandbox Siege Dev Diary

I just spent a couple of months re-coding a web page developed with AI. It sort of worked, but struggled to give the same result consistently, which was an issue as it was balancing ship cargos worth over US$18 mill each.
To me that sounds like an awfull waste of time. As a former chief officer and surveyor I know that stability calculation for those smaller shipments can be done in minutes with just a pocket calculator. 🫠
 
I think Laz Man said that they were trying to get some new POI added for 3.0. Other than that, I'm not sure what else might appear. We know they are planning to add the chicken coop and they have that pig model sitting there waiting to be added into the game. I doubt the pig will get added for 3.0 and the chicken coop is somewhat unlikely, but maybe. Some info would be nice.
Tbh I dont think we are getting coops but it will be a nice surprise if we did same for the

The pig! THE PIG! Where's that new pig model? Oops! Sorry Or you could just, you know, play the game. Look, I'm anti-LBD for crafting, and honestly, anti-LBD in general. The only games I've ever liked it in are Wizardry 6/7/8 (but there you could only raise skills if you were doing something with the potential for failure or that cost resources) and 7 Days (but I started playing after they'd removed having to craft a billion clubs to make better clubs).

I never ground skills in A16, and I never found myself lacking. Yeah, I might be on day 30 something and have an armor skill under 10, but that didn't really matter. I don't know that I ever had a firearm skill over 50, yet I still had a blast playing the game.

My athletics was usually my first skill to hit 100, but I didn't bunny hop around. I did run everywhere though, but I still do that. It wasn't to grind, it was because I'm impatient and the walking speed is too slow. Second would be mining because I mine a lot.

Honestly, I'm not fussed one way or the other about LBD coming back. But I do want the crafting magazines to go away. They make the game too linear, and force me to go looting when I'd rather be doing something else.

I wonder if it will be possible to catch a chicken from a POI and take it, or only the wild ones.
It would probably be something like the apiary, we would put some hay, seeds or water (god forbid with jars, cuz there will always be a one chick in that coop, that will strike against jars ) And the result would be eggs or chicken meat* I suppose.

*Would be cool if we have different sorts of meat again, to give us different perks or boosts for some time also.

They mentioned being able to carry chickens, so it sounds like the answer is yes. The question is how do they want you to catch the chickens. Trying to run around and catch them would be rather annoying, though possible. Sons of the Forest uses traps that can let you live-catch rabbits to take to the rabbit hutch, but TFP hasn't mentioned anything about animal traps.
 
Hopefully we get the chicken coop in 3.0. I would dread it becomes the new bandits. :P

Y'know, I read that a little too fast the first time, and I thought you meant chickens becoming bandits.

... and now I want banditized chickens. Will the bandits have their own chicken coops with chickens wearing bandit accessories?

Demonic chickens that vomit fireballs has been on my wishlist for a long time. ;)

Maybe every time you loot a bird's nest, there's a 5% chance it spawns an angry attack chicken on you. ;)
 
I don't know if I ever mentioned it but... About 2 years ago, TFP showed us some new animal models (like a new coyote, chicken, rabbit and a few more)... Where's that $%^#%$@ PIG!!!

But seriously, of all the new models, only the pig is still missing. Is it because that one needed new animations and rigging and such, and it takes 2 years to finish it? (of course not)
Is it like @Old Crow was saying, that TFP probably forgot about it?
Having the pig in the farm areas would be a nice addition since there's a lot of farm POIs.

Not that it matters to me if they add it or not, but... 🐷😁

So....As we've come to the end of the road. The only things of importance left are.
Getting some pork, Makin bacon, Chasing dirty birds, and Choking chickens.
