I just got the rog ally and my player save keeps getting lost…already had to start over three times. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

Not sure what "rog ally" is, but saves breaking tend to be related to network problems if someone is hosting your game or you are playing on a server, or else crashing or closing the game incorrectly (use the exit menu option and do not use Alt-F4 to close the game), or an issue with a mod. That's just a generalization as there's no real information that you've given to narrow down the problem. I'd suggest posting a log as it explains in the pinned thread as that may show the issue. If you have a log from the last time it worked and then a log from the first time it didn't work, include both as the combination has a good chance of showing the problem.

It's similar to a Steam Deck. It's made by Asus and is on their Republic Of Gamers line of hardware (ROG).
I think it runs Windows.

In that case, I don't have any idea if there is some issue with that hardware.
