I believe the same settings string you get in game in the UI can be pasted into serverconfig.

if you are going to take a shot...
2.6 is bug fixes...not what I would call "cooking"...I'd call that cleaning up...or putting your house in order
3.0 sandbox is the work of one person (I have been told)...so when you guys say that "they are cooking" i have to ask for some clarity...which 3.0? 3.0 sandbox is one guy...and 3.0 Bandits we have very little to go on.

Hope things are going well with development i got a few questions about one aspect. And i may be miss remembering but its about the learn by doing/items
From what I remember, madmole was talking about the combine system coming back and make things like cooking pots have quality levels. Will these quality levels be applied to other things in Game that don't have them as well like
(Weapon mods, workbench mods, etc)

I think I know what you're referring to, but I interpreted that post to mean that just the menu ('sandbox') options were being worked on by one person, but that that is just one component of the 3.0 update in its entirety.

sorry it bothers you, but, 3.0 has meant Bandits since launch...they have said that they are changing the naming conventions...and that this sandbox is NOW 3.0. So when I ask for clarity...it is because it REQUIRES clarifying imo.
like people saying that TFP are cooking with 3.0...it has been said that the 3.0 sandbox was the work of one person and has not held up the work on the 3.0 Bandits. Do you not see that it would be better if they would just clear this up?

To make this post on topic, very excited about this update.
The gist of Faatals message is in my opinion just that: The sandbox option is the work of 1 person and doesn't interfere with the work of other developers
What it doesn't mean is that 3.0 will only have the sandbox option. There were other changes promised after the ■■■■storm and some of them will likely be in 3.0 as well.
AFAIK before the number change a 2.7 already was planned that would as well have no bandits. Now the new 3.0 is the old 2.7 and both would have likely released at the same time. Just the number is different

I have no idea what they had planned out for 2.7 or 2.8....or why they are changing the naming system. what I have asserted is that they should have been ready to explain themselves when they brought it up.
v3.0 sandbox is a stand alone update imo...it is an entirely separate game mode.
whatever else is or isn't coming with it..."we" have no idea...that's why I waste no effort on speculating about that.

To be fair- and I'm sure I may get some hate, but I agree with Hammer on this particular topic.
If it's just a matter of what was 2.8 being pushed back until bandits are ready to come out- great.
.. I'm -not- asking about a time frame, or a release date, I know it wouldn't be accurate anyhow, I don't need to be drip fed any news on whichever juicy things they're planning.
I just think it would be nice that, since they're changing the name, they be upfront about whether or not it's still the expectation to have bandits drop in the big patch 3.0 as we've been told for the last.. 2 years now? I know they didn't say they wouldn't.. but is there really only just 2 people that feel like it isn't clear?

I don't think anyone has said they made the new versioning system clear yet, or what will be in the next update. I just don't care, personally. We will get what update we get when we get it. And by the time we get it, we will know most everything that will be in it, just like always. Them detailing their reworked release plans to us doesn't change when or what comes out. But some people are just impatient and can't wait for them to share the details. They seem to be bringing things that were planned for the original 3.0/later updates forward with some of the stuff they've done, so they may not even know 100% yet what the next update will be.
Me personally, I'm figuring the new 3.0 will not have bandits. Might be 4.0 now, later in the year.
