PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME

Hi Hunterrrrr,

First, make sure you are both on the same version of the game. This means version AND build number. Next, the Xbox host would need to ensure that crossplay is enabled. If they haven't enabled crossplay, ask them to do that and restart the game.

Check NAT Type (Xbox Networking Issue)

On Xbox:
Settings → Network → NAT Type
Should be Open

If it says Moderate or Strict:
Restart router
Enable UPnP
Or forward ports:
  • 26900–26902
  • 27015
  • 27036

Additionally:

Xbox hosting limitations:
Limited player slots
Peer-to-peer hosting
Host must stay online
Stable internet required

Try:
Reboot Xbox
Restart router
Invite directly via Xbox friends list instead of searching server browser

Hope this helps,
Dollie

…. Appreciate the help but Fortnite it is cause he’s not that adept an lives alone and hours away from me. Ans I cannot solve the key to world hunger via FaceTime…just gunna go play a game that lets us invite people regardless of console cause I can’t invite as previously stated in post an guess I’ll count my blessings I wasted 20$ instead of 40.

It's very likely you guys have miss matched versions. Have them check what version they see in the upper right when they are in game. You can roll back to their version if it's mismatched.

Right click your game on steam>properties>Game Versions and Betas. Make sure the actual build number matches 2.5 (B32)
If the B number is different, that's the likely issue.
