Class Entity?? I think.

Rotor

Hunter
Anywho, back in 2023 @JaxTeller provided a way to change cop puke.

However, the actual code is gone. I need/want/would be nice to have that. I did not save it.

I am hoping it provides a way forward, for me to mod if'n when I get to it.

Yeah. The bullet sponginess method of introducing supposed "difficulty" has never appealed to me whatsoever. I was surprised to actually like FromSoftware's method as well as I did. Don't even need a difficulty slider.

Game could probably use some generic "herd" zombies; much larger wandering hordes; etc. But until performance is locked down, at least, I don't expect to see any.

I don't think the cops' vomiting has anything to do with bullet sponges, but rather something related to the irradiated and colored zombies. The cops' vomiting does add difficulty to the game, which is fine in my opinion, as with the spitter and chuck, and these are not bullet sponges. The only way to please everyone is to have an option to disable them.

The game can actually support many more zombies on screen than there are in vanilla, and for some reason it's limited.

Can it with the recommended specs or only with a computer above specifications?

People already complain about lag during blood moons/high tier POIs.

I use mods to increase the number of zombies, and yes, there are performance issues, but most of the problems come from the speed of vehicles and large cities, with or without mods.

Anyway, I never take Steam's hardware requirements seriously. My PC is a piece of junk, and outside of cities I have no problems.

My cop vomiting or special zombies is driven by a more Romero zombie style. Just as an fyi. As the song goes...."don't let me misunderstood"

That was a little confusing, wasn't it? Cross-topic among Feycat's, feral/irradiated/colored zombies and Rotor's other topic, arrow sponges+ lol (I'll be all right.)

Old Crow suggested a chemical attack for the janitor a few days ago. If each or a few of the named zombies, plus Wight, had special attacks or something unique to them besides movement and hard hats/helmets, that would add quite a bit of variety on its own. Poison, chemical, something. Not sure what change to the cop spit Rotor is referring to, but right now the very few named zombies, as well as Screamer and Wight, are called upon to fill all kinds of roles including trip wires and alarms. So, I get the "more" rather than tougher zombies requests. Also, there's no generic herd as there is in movies and, even, some other games. Named zombies are called upon to fill that role as well and wandering "hordes" are very small.

I'm assuming performance issues account for that, but could be wrong. The fact that all POIs are open, have fully explorable/usable interiors, etc. is a huge part of the performance issues negating things like more zombie entities and larger wandering packs, methinks. Making windows opaque until interiors are in promity and incremental loading of zombies in interiors helped, but those POIs themselves are fully open. It's awesome when compared to every other game in which most interiors are closed off and not rendered at all, but that's due to performance constraints, especially on console, which 7 Days ignores. Other games hide that with seemingly large structures which actually have very little explorable space and advances in loading behind the scenes, as it were. I remember the "no" loading screens and clear windows of Witcher 3 were considered an remarkable technical achievement at the time, ntm the city crowds. I can only imagine the hurdles TFP are trying to cross on that front.

Misunderstanding then, when mentioning bullet sponges, I didn't see the other post.

Yes, basically the performance has always been like that, although it has improved a little. A 100% accessible world without loading screens with large buildings is difficult to optimize, but it's priceless.

I wanted it gone and JaxTeller came up with the xml. The archive doesnt have it anymore, and I did not save it.

And yes, it looks like there were some crossposting, and why I posted my explanation.
Just read this, are you still looking at making the cop spit a thing of the past, or did I read that wrong?

Here is the thread from back when I got help doing that:

I will take a look when I get to 'puter, thank you.

Ya, want the puke gone and if I can figure it out, I will remove the other "specials".
