Arrow sponges even with a headshot are annoying, and other musings. 2.5

Not liking that at all....hell it is happening to me with 7.65 ammo.

Granted only level 5 but ■■■■.

NOT "fun"

I do like smell though, just not the icon :).

Most zombies have turned into arrow sponges, me no like.

Water and Food consumption, I dont know if it was changed, but it is seems way faster. Even with one point into iron gut.

The rage run mechanic sucks. Not sure how else to express it. Specially if I am shooting in the leg, stumbles for a bit and they proceeds to do a Usain Bolt on me.

Temp is good, I like it, found me a thermal mod, which allowed me to "deal" with it. But in the previous playthrough I was barely able to make it to Rekt during a forest downpour. It was an oh ■■■■ moment, like it.

I have not noticed zombies being more spongy on the same difficulty.

I don't mind the smell system just wish it was a little more granular. Different radius's depending on the item, e.g a can of miso smells less than chili, and less than tuna. Not a fan of the raw meat grace period, it needs work. It should begin when the animal is killed and expand at a set rate. Totally washing "smell" off by immersion to far too easy. Maybe the smell rate degrades faster after immersion instead of leaving entirely.

Yes, temperature extremes really increase food and water consumption. Perhaps it needs a tinkering or rebalancing.

I guess I am used to the rage run mechanic, so its built into my play.

Yes temperature is good. We need the environmental radiation hazard (and associated widgets) in the wasteland to balance out the supposed biome difficulty.

Game as well require more now. More chance to run away.

I haven't found it an issue, though. Just switched over to iron, when I had iron, and a single shot works just fine.

Haven't iriwd iron tips yet, used to save those for BM. I guess between the, food and spongy, it semi blood moonish when in combat,.......for moi.

It seemed to me that it even decreased. Although it might have something to do with the fact that I didn't take regeneration, but fully upgraded my iron stomach. Before that, I always played with regeneration.

The grace period for meat smell to appear is generally well-designed. Firstly, the animal's corpse itself smells, and zombies react to it immediately after the kill. Secondly, the 10-second delay from the moment the meat is added to my inventory until the smell appears is very good. I don't always hunt for meat, and these 10 seconds allow me to discard it before the smell appears.

And it's actually become fun to run around a city in the wasteland at night with a full stack of meat. You don't have to search or chase anyone; everyone comes to you. Very convenient with melee weapons.
