The Animal Hoarder (house_old_modular_03) Timid Chicken in Quest Required Sleeper Volume

A Timid Chicken is placed in a Quest Required Volume.
Since they don't show up as zombie dots, the yellow marker shows.
It is pretty intuitive that it needs eliminating, but it appears the current way of handling this is to place them in a Sleeper Volume that is not Quest Completion Required. It would be useful if they could receive a dot as with the boar, but either way.

Thank you for your report, arramus. The reason you don't have a dot for the chicken is, as you said, they are not required to kill as part of the quest completion. The reason they do this is due to those types of animals often escaping the quest bounds before you realize you need to kill them which would prevent you from being able to complete the quest.

This has been moved to 'Not A Bug'. However, in this case it is necessary to kill the chicken to complete the quest. Without killing the chicken the quest cannot be completed. The chicken is placed inside a Sleeper Volume with Quest Exclude set as No.

Yeah, I've seen this one before. You have to kill the chicken for the clear quest. I've seen this in others as well, but I don't remember which ones and they may have been custom POI, which is why I haven't ever bothered saying anything. I actually like having to kill chickens or snakes for clear quests, but it definitely can be frustrating if you have one to kill and can't find it because it doesn't show a dot. I had one time when a chicken was probably 100m outside the quest boundary. I happened to be able to see it by jumping into the air and was then able to shoot it to kill it without leaving the quest area.

In any case, I think the animals should show a dot just like zombies if they are included in a quest requirement. No reason not to.

The chicken is the final entity awaiting elimination. For this POI it is set up as a requirement.

Yes. A POI like Huenink Family Farms places rabbits, chickens, and boars in Quest Exclude set as Yes. In this case the Quest Exclude set as No and is setting the chicken as an elimination requirement.

Ah, I had misread what you said originally. I thought you had said no dot shows at all. I'm fine with it being yellow versus red... Red = will attack you, yellow = it's passive. That also works for zombies that are sleeping and marked yellow since in their current state they are passive.

But I've had cases where the yellow dot also doesn't appear even though it is required to kill for the quest completion. Not sure if that's only in custom POI and if those are set up differently than this example.

There are two settings for the Sleeper Volumes:
- Quest Exclude : Yes
This is typically used where animals are placed to appear but are 'decorative' such as Huenink Family Farms with chickens, rabbits, boars, and even a vulture in the barn. The quest can be completed without eliminating these.
- Quest Exclude : No
This reflects the bug posting. Based on the chicken not being a requirement to complete the quest, it should not be placed in the Quest Exclude : No Sleeper Volume where it is currently located.
