Radioactive mushrooms should be more useful

That should be quite trivial now, wouldn't even mess with balance as proper water is still infinite. We might actually get it, basically just needs the xml edit for the recipe. Jar + snowball => murky water.
Great opportunity to really irritate players by giving it a realistic cook time.
 
We can't throw snowballs anymore to distract zombies?
Not sure on that, but I've tried throwing rocks as distractions before, it didn't seem to work well enough to justify it.

I was referring more to crafting options with snow, though. Only one single crafting recipe uses it, it'd be nice to see a couple more items, maybe some other food items.
 
Yeah.. not a huge fan of ingredient items that only have one single use (looking at you, snow).
Shades of the cave sulpher in Subnautica. You won't need any once you make a couple of tools, so I don't bother getting more than a couple at the beginning. They were probably thinking about explosives down the line or something else that never manifested. I don't mind it, but...yeah. Seems a waste.
 
Since the mushrooms glow in the dark

Just for helluvit they could add hydrogen peroxide as an ingredient.

Recipe: Hydrogen peroxide, 5 mushrooms, 3 jars of water = glow in the
the dark paint green.

Recipe: Hydrogen peroxide, 5 mushrooms, 3 jars of water, Chrysanthemums
= glow in the the dark paint red.

Recipe: Hydrogen peroxide, 5 mushrooms, 3 jars of water, GoldenRod
= glow in the the dark paint yellow.

Recipe: Hydrogen peroxide, 5 mushrooms, 3 jars of water, Cotton = glow in
the the dark paint white.
Recipe: Hydrogen peroxide, 5 mushrooms, 3 jars of water, any Tint bottle =
glow in the the dark Tint Same color as original tint, for glow in the dark
weapons armor, and vehicles if they have a mod slot. Then if they add masked
areas to them later, it could be like tribal or clans.
Any of the above recipes plus small stones = Moon rocks to see where you throw.
Add to stone arrows only act as tracers, and makers when shooting in entities in
the dark. Getting crazy add to a batch of bullets any flavor, Randomized tracers.
Add a mod slot to explosives to make an area, and the aoe can make light up
entities at night, not fully but like their clothing randomly.
Use generic fun, psychedelic painting at bases, Marker blocks in and out
of pois, marking paths in dark pois as an alternate to light, Shine a flash
light on them makes them brighter for a bit Kinda like "The Tunnel" personal
old reference, use stones like breadcrumbs like Hansel and Gretel.
If nights set to pitch black, then team mates can have fights, like "Skin Deep".
Paint terrain trees an brush for night markers, Catch a bunny or chicken
and paint them keep em in slot until necessary, and set them loose at night as a decoy
like painted rocks with feet.
Benefit is it could be used as an emergency supply of water. Drink it and become a glow
stick for a period of time, it works like smell. Disclaimer: would nullify stealth during
that time period.

Hit another player with a moon rock and make them bait, paintbrush would last longer and draw
entities from farther.
Last for dumb■■■■s like me be able to mark where my spikes are in the dark so I stop
running into them, when night fighting.

= glow in the the dark paintballs. They don't do any real damage, but if people get bored, they can
have a paintball tournament. Or If a team is night hunting together, just shoot each other in the back,
so you don't lose them in the darkness. Could work on pvp also, to mark a target, to keep a visual on
them, using a suppressor sniper rifle.

I doubt they'd do paint considering they are already limiting paints due to hardware limitations. If they add more paints, I'd rather more usable varieties than glow in the dark, even if that could be fun. Instead, change your idea from glow in the dark paint to neon signs, where the mushrooms act as neon. Or even a new variety of light that doesn't require electricity, but has limited illumination.

not be adding new paint, Red green yellow and white already exist. The only difference would be the
use of a property like this <property name="MatColor" value="radiated"/>. The same way it is already
done for the zombies. Neon is also possible. Those recipes were just for fun showing that adding 1
ingredient could open the door to possibilities, while using already existing, assets.

They aren't tinting paints. That is why you have separate paints for each color of concrete "paint". Every different color requires another texture space. If you are talking about dyes for weapons and vehicles, then that may be different.
 
Radioactive mushrooms should be more useful; currently, they're only needed for crafting anti-radiation medication, which is quickly becoming almost irrelevant. Food/medications using these mushrooms and the ability to grow them would add further value
But how would you grow the mushrooms? Put em in a room full of radioactive waste?
